Some people hate spring and others love it. Here we'll discuss some common reactions on the overlooked season, as told by the Grey's Anatomy cast.

1. When spring first starts

You're not sure how you feel at the beginning of spring. You want to be optimistic and love the warm weather, but how long will it last? Will tomorrow be below freezing again? Will it rain for 2 weeks straight? It's a time of uncertainty, so you're rightfully skeptically of the season.

2. When you hit the crazy part of the semester

As the spring semester winds down, the temperatures get higher, along with student's stress levels. With group projects, papers, and finals to just around the corner to finish out the semester, it's a bit much when all you want to do is be done and in the sun.

 3. When you don't dress appropriately

We've all had those days when we leave the house early in the morning all bundled up with a winter jacket and warm boots, and by our second class, we're literally sweating. We all make mistakes, and man is spring weather hard to read.

4. When it doesn't stop raining

April showers bring May flowers, which is great but, it certainly feels a little excessive when you have to constantly carry you're umbrella and rain boots for days on end. Hello spring, hello flash floods!

5. When you can walk to class without a hat and gloves

After months of dressing like you're walking through the tundra, instead of to class, a little warmth on your cheeks and fingertips feels much better than potential frostbite. Without all the clothes weighing you down, you feel free and able to enjoy the sunshine.

6. When you FINALLY see the sun

Seasons and weather really do affect our mood, so when the sunshine finally peeks through the clouds, we tend to feel euphoric.

7. When you realize there is only one month left of the semester

You obviously knew you were busy and that you had a ton on your plate, but once it actually sinks in that there are only a few weeks left, it's a different feeling. Moving out of the dorms or apartments and back home seemed so far away a few months ago, and it's finally here. That came out of nowhere!

8. When you realize summer is right around the corner

Spring is unpredictable, yet utterly enjoyable, especially considering it means summer is just weeks away. It's the perfect transition from cold, sad months of winter, to the freedom and heat filled days of summer. So thank you spring, and sorry we so often overlook you.

The Great Christmas Movie Debate

"A Christmas Story" is the star on top of the tree.

One staple of the Christmas season is sitting around the television watching a Christmas movie with family and friends. But of the seemingly hundreds of movies, which one is the star on the tree? Some share stories of Santa to children ("Santa Claus Is Coming to Town"), others want to spread the Christmas joy to adults ("It's a Wonderful Life"), and a select few are made to get laughs ("Elf"). All good movies, but merely ornaments on the Christmas tree of the best movies. What tops the tree is a movie that bridges the gap between these three movies, and makes it a great watch for anyone who chooses to watch it. Enter the timeless Christmas classic, "A Christmas Story." Created in 1983, this movie holds the tradition of capturing both young and old eyes for 24 straight hours on its Christmas Day marathon. It gets the most coverage out of all holiday movies, but the sheer amount of times it's on television does not make it the greatest. Why is it,
then? A Christmas Story does not try to tell the tale of a Christmas miracle or use Christmas magic to move the story. What it does do though is tell the real story of Christmas. It is relatable and brings out the unmatched excitement of children on Christmas in everyone who watches. Every one becomes a child again when they watch "A Christmas Story."

It's the most wonderful time of the year! Christmas is one of my personal favorite holidays because of the Christmas traditions my family upholds generation after generation. After talking to a few of my friends at college, I realized that a lot of them don't really have "Christmas traditions" in their family, and I want to help change that. It’s here; that time of year when college students turn into preschoolers again. We cry for our mothers, eat everything in sight, and whine when we don’t get our way. It’s finals, the dreaded time of the semester when we all realize we should have been paying attention in class instead of literally doing anything else but that. Everyone has to take them, and yes, unfortunately, they are inevitable. But just because they are here and inevitable does not mean they’re peaches and cream and full of rainbows. Surviving them is a must, and the following five phases are a reality for all majors from business to art, nursing to history.
