If you go to Syracuse University, you know what it's like to experience winter every day of the year. Even when you think spring is finally upon you, surprise, it is not. That's actually the start of the second winter, the gap between winter and spring. God, don't you just love the snow at this point?
However, although it's been rocky, spring is finally making its appearance this week with 50-degree weather and I am truly living for it. This is everything I needed and more.
Studying outside feels the absolute best.
Syracuse students don't often get the opportunity to go outside and enjoy the warm weather, but when they do, you'll catch them studying on the quads or anywhere that is outdoor. There's nothing worse than having to read your textbook underneath the light of your dorm.
I can never study inside and it truly boggles my mind how anyone could ever find it comforting to study underneath some fluorescent lights. I probably should not have gone to this school if I found studying outside more comfortable, but I have learned to love it.
No more going out with a jacket.
Remember the beginning of the year when you would go out in shorts and a tube top? Ah, yes. Those were truly the days. Nothing makes you feel freer than wearing a shirt without a jacket, and plus, you know you are so likely to lose that jacket, I can guarantee you.
Summer nights with your first semester friends were truly everything. Even though Syracuse spring is like two days, it's nice to be able to have the chance to not layer in coats and then run into the Uber.
Spring clothes are so much more easy to wear.
I truly love wearing summer/spring clothes. Something about it just makes me so happy, especially because I love dressing up nice and sweaters just do not make an outfit cute. Spring outfits are so much more easy to pair, and this definitely cures my winter woes. Nothing is more liberating than not wearing your jacket to classes and carrying that heavy thing around with you all day.
Spring offers so much happiness and literally represents everything good in the world. It also means we're one step closer to school being out for the year, and let me tell you, I need this long break. After living in the tundra for about a good 8 months, I am truly so excited to feel some sunshine on my skin. The winter has torn me down like no other, and you better believe I will be at the beach all summer recovering from it.
