For most of us, Spring is just around the corner. What better time to hit the mall (or if you prefer, partake in ALL of the online shopping)?! The turn of the season always gives me an excuse to go shopping, so why wouldn't I share a little fashion inspiration? Here are the 15 chic pieces to complete your Spring wardrobe this year.

1. Basic linen tops

So simple, yet they make a statement and can be layered as transition pieces no matter the temperature.

2. A denim jacket

Another great transition piece; the denim jacket. This hot item makes layering a breeze, which is key for those Spring days where it's chilly in the morning but gradually warms up.

3. Light wash jeans

Light wash jeans have the ability to brighten up any outfit. Don't get these confused with white jeans, which typically aren't worn until after Memorial Day (if you follow those rules anymore...).

4. Lightweight cardigans

By adding pastel cardigans to your wardrobe, you can layer over simple tops for a more put together outfit.

5. T-shirt dresses

Pair with a denim or utility jacket and you've got yourself a look.

6. Off the shoulder tops

These are great for adding a feminine touch to any outfit. They can be found in florals or fun Spring colors as well.

7. Fun florals

Whether a dress or a top, florals are so fun for Spring and keep an outfit balanced, if paired with some basics.

8. Utility jacket

Utility jackets are incredibly versatile and come in so many colors.

9. Slip-on sneakers

Cute and comfy- probably why they are all the rave this season!

10. A chambray shirt

Sure to brighten up any Spring outfit, as well as another great layering piece.

11. Colored jeans or chinos

We've all heard of statement necklaces and statement earrings, but what about statement pants? These are perfect for adding a pop of color to any outfit.

12. Peep toe booties

These can be dressed up or down and give you that flirty feel without being a basic sandal.

13. Statement jewelry

BRB still loving this necklace and how it pairs with this casual outfit.

14. A crossbody bag

Just as your wardrobe lightens up, why shouldn't the weight of your purse? Try and condense your chunky winter tote into a small crossbody for days out on the town.

15. Stripes

Stripes are such a basic staple on their own and transition perfectly into Spring.

Happy shopping!

Today I started my third week of college at Minnesota State Moorhead. I have survived welcome week, finding my classes on the first day, and being an awkward loner in the dining hall. Even though I have yet to be here for a month, I have already experienced many thoughts and problems that only a new college student can relate to.

"Make sure to get involved when you're in college!"

We've all heard some variation of this phrase, whether it came from parents, other family members, friends, RAs, or college-related articles. And, like many clichés, it's true for the most part. Getting involved during your college years can help you make friends, build your resume, and feel connected to your campus. However, these commitments can get stressful if you're dealing with personal issues, need to work, or aren't sure how to balance classes and everything else going on during the semester.

In college, one of the essential things to have is friends. Yes, textbooks, a laptop, and other school supplies are important but friends are essential. Friends are that support system everybody needs. The more friends you have the better the support system you have. But you also have someone to share experiences with. And don’t settle for just one or two friends because 8 out of 10 times they are busy and you are studying all alone. Or they have other friend groups that do not include you. Don’t settle for just one or two friends; make as many friends as you can. After the first couple of weeks of college, most friend groups are set and you may be without friends.

For a moment your world is spinning. The phone alarm has just scared you awake and you’re flooded by daunting thoughts of the day ahead. You have three assignments due and little time to work on them because of your job. You’re running late because you’ve hit snooze one to many times after yesterday’s long hours. You dizzily reach for a hoodie, craving its comfort, and rush for a speedy exit, praying you will have time to pick up coffee. Does this sound familiar?

Finals week is upon us. It is a magical time of year during which college students everywhere flock to the library in attempt to learn a semester's worth of knowledge in only a week. For some students, it's their first time in the library all semester, maybe ever. Others have slaved away many nights under the fluorescent lights, and are slightly annoyed to find their study space being invaded by amateurs. While these newbies wander aimlessly around the first floor, hopelessly trying to find a table, the OGs of the library are already on the third floor long tables deep into their studies.
