How to choose between taking physical classes and online classes

There’s a good and bad side to every kind of class. Here’s a short pros and cons list I’ve compiled for physical classes:

Pros to Physical Classes:

Asking Questions:

Ask questions as they come along in class instead of emailing someone constantly; there’s no shame in harassing your professor with constant questions via email but sometimes they’d like to do it during their class time instead of their free time.

Study Groups:

Being able to form study groups with people in the class without tracking them down via email. The first day of class you can find people you can form a study group with sitting right next to you.

Sitting in Front Row:

You can get brownie points from the professor by sitting in the front, answering questions, and asking questions.

Being on Campus:

Since you’re already on campus you can go to the professor’s office hours, go to the library, and take advantage of other on-campus activities.

Cons to Physical Classes:

Just Another Face:

Sometimes when you go to class and you don’t participate you can just be another face to your professor. There’s no individuality unless you choose to stand out from the other students.

Getting Out of Bed:

This con was going to have to be addressed eventually. Everyone hates to get out of bed, especially if you make the mistake of having an early class or a late class.

Sitting in a Lecture Hall:

Do I even have to explain this? Sitting next to other people? Being social? Having to look people in the eye? Wow.

Other People’s Questions:

Having to sit through other people’s questions. This is a little bit of a pro and a con but I’m not going to lie, who wants to sit though someone asking what a bird is in chemistry class?

I hope this small pros and cons list helped you and make sure to keep your eye out for Spring/Fall Semesters: Online Classes!

Here are the top few things, that I find at least, are some of the most irritating misconceptions that find their way into numerous conversations...

8. "The whole philanthropy thing isn't real, right?"

Well all those fundraisers and marketing should would be a waste then wouldn't they?

11 Things Summer Nannies Can Relate To

There are plenty of obstacles that come when taking care of kids, but it's a very rewarding experience.

As a college student, being a nanny over the summer is both enjoyable and challenging. Underneath the seemingly perfect trips to the pool or countless hours spent playing Monopoly are the obstacles that only nannies will understand. Trading in your valuable summer vacation in return for three months spent with a few children less than half your age may seem unappealing, but so many moments make it rewarding. For my fellow summer nannies out there, I know you can relate.

There are a lot of really easy, common names in the U.S. and while many of those simple names have different spellings, most of the time, pronunciation is not an issue that those people need to worry about. However, others are not as fortunate and often times give up on corrections after a while. We usually give an A+ for effort. So, as you could probably imagine, there are a few struggles with having a name that isn’t technically English. Here are just a few…

Daydreaming

day·dream (ˈdāˌdrēm/): a series of pleasant thoughts that distract one's attention from the present.

Daydreams, the savior of our life in class. Every type of student in the classroom does it at least once, but most cases it is an everyday event, especially in that boring class -- you know the one. But what are we thinking while we are daydreaming?

Puerto Ricans. They are very proud people and whether they were born on the island or born in the United States by Puerto Rican parent(s). It gets even better when they meet another fellow Puerto Rican or Latino in general. You’ll know quickly if they are Puerto Rican whether the flag is printed somewhere on their person or whether they tell you or whether the famous phrase “wepa!” is said.
