If you feel like you're stuck in a rut or need something new in your life, try these techniques to break your routine! It'll help your mental health and even help your productivity.
Declutter and organize your closet.
My room is my "safe haven," my favorite spot to decompress and reflect on my day. It can be stressful though to come home to a cluttered, messy room. When I am feeling overwhelmed it can be especially relaxing to clean out my closet and check off one more thing on my to-do list. Organizing my clothes by occasion or color also can be time-saving in the morning.
Redecorate your room.

Moving around your bed or re-organizing your desk can be especially refreshing. Anything as simple as switching out the pictures in the frames will also help to create a new look for your room.
Workout classes.
Doing the same workouts at the gym can become boring, but trying new workout classes at your gym or Orange Theory can help to break this routine. This group setting will also naturally make you want to compete and push yourself harder than you normally would!
Go to the movies.
If you need an escape from reality, the movies are one of the best places for this. Get comfortable, treat yourself to some popcorn and enjoy the experience of going to the movies. After seeing a great movie (i.e. "The Big Sick"), I am always in a much better mood and feel much more refreshed.
Make time for a girl's night.
The highlight of every week is getting in my pj's and watching "The Bachelor" with my best friends. I can't say The Bachelor is my favorite show, but spending time with my close friends always makes me feel better.
No matter what the sitch, your mind needs some TLC. Taking the time to do these simple, practical suggestions will help you get on the fast track of a happier, healthier you.
