The summer of 2017 was the most incredible and curious time in my life that I have experienced thus far. I traveled to Colombia and several different National Parks in the United States. There is something that is perpetually soothing about inorganic shapes and lines that provoke thought and artistic creativity. After traveling and experiencing Earth’s nature, it has lead to massive project ideas, new job opportunities and awards I otherwise wouldn't have experienced.
1. Having a budget.
This is an essential part of making a trip happen in the first place. It will give you either an incentive to travel, wherever your group wants to go.
2. Know where you want to go and what the goals of the trip are.
Whether you want to spend your spring break in a resort or camping in the desert, you should create an itinerary that makes the most of your time and accomplishes everything you wanted to get done.
3. Make sure you’re with a group of people who can help the trip be the best it can be!
The more the merrier. As long as everyone on the trip is on the same page with the agenda, your trip is bound to be incredible.
4. Pack light, but always have the essentials.
Having an outfit for any situation, extra power resources (for nature situations), knowing alternate routes and having printed maps that will prepare you for unforeseen complications along the way.
5. Snacks.
Even if you think you won't need any snacks, you're probably going to want something to munch on at one point or another along the way.
But most of all, have FUN and take lots of pictures!
