What To Do At Home For Spring Break When You Have No Spring Break Plans

Sure everyone might be out in Cabo, The Caribbean, or some other expensive place during Spring Break, but as they're all out spending money, you're being economically resourceful and energy saving!

What To Do At Home For Spring Break When You Have No Spring Break Plans

1. Catch up with friends (if they don't have plans too).

Think about it, you haven't been back home in a while, what's better than meeting some friends for coffee downtown and catching up? I'm sure that all your friends who're home for break, like you, have been missing you a bunch this whole time and are itching to tell you what's been going on since you've been gone and I'm sure you are too.

2. Catching up with family.

You know your extended family has been missing you like crazy since you've been away. Since you don't have any plans, why not make the trek over to visit with them? Or go out to dinner with all of them and have a little mini-reunion for you all. Family is really important, so making the extra effort to check in with them when you have time is important especially throughout your college years.

3. Head to the movies.

Go to the movies! Who doesn't like the movies? If you're like me you probably haven't seen a lot of the movies that have come out recently because of school and what not, so think of this as the perfect time to re-acclimate yourself to pop-culture. Also, a wonderful idea for an outing with friends and family too.

4. Sleep.

Sleep, beautiful sleep. Yes, you can finally get the ten to twelve hours of rest that you deserve after grinding through your schoolwork the past few months. Take this as a chance to wrap yourself up like a burrito and nap all day. This method also works just in case you were thinking about binge-watching your favorite TV show as well.

5. Workout.

You got all this time on your hands, why not be useful with it and hit the gym! If schoolwork got in the way of your physical health within the past few weeks leading up to Spring Break, well now is be the time to break out of that. Start grinding now so you're healthy and ready to come back to school looking strong. Also, summer is right around the corner, so why not take this opportunity to get a head start on your summer body?

6. Just all around be lazy.

No one ever said that you have to have plans for Spring Break. School can really take it out of you so if you want to just be lazy go right ahead, you deserve it. If your idea of having a good Spring Break is sitting in front of your TV all day eating whatever you want and not leaving your house for a straight week, then, by all means, go ahead. As long as you're happy.

I know it may make you feel jealous of all the other people you know going to these extravagant places, but just keep in mind, you can still have fun with what you have no matter how little you think it may be. As I said, there are no rules to Spring Break. It is a break from school and other things, meant for you to relax before getting back to school. It is apparent that other people may have more adventurous Spring Breaks than you, but if you had a good time just chilling at home, then that's just as good. You do you.

It is that time of year again. Christmastime. It is one of my favorite seasons for a myriad of reasons. Here are just a few reasons why I love Christmas. This list is in no order of importance.

1. The Christmas decorations

I am that person who will decorate directly after Thanksgiving is over. This year, my roommates and I put the tree up in our apartment before we even left for Thanksgiving break. It is a great stress reliever for me to just sit in my living room and work on the huge amount of work I have before the semester is over.

Mistakes are something we all make, no matter how old we get. Most of the time, the mistakes we made are little and sometimes due to something out of our control. Yet, there are mistakes that are bigger than others. Personally, I have mistakes that I wish I could go back and undo. Here they are:

Writing a paper is never fun and is rarely rewarding. The writer's block, the page requirement, be specific, but don’t summarize, make sure you fixed any grammatical errors, did you even use spellcheck? and analyze, analyze, analyze.

Papers can be a major pain. They take up so much time and effort that by the end of the process you hate yourself and you hate the professor for making life so difficult. Questions of your existence start roaming in your mind. Am I even cut out for college if I can’t write a single paper? Am I even capable of taking care of myself if I lack the energy to open my laptop and start typing?
