Can you believe it, Flagler students? Spring break is finally here! Even if you're not a student, St. Augustine is probably on your list of possible spring break destinations. If it's still a toss up between St. Augustine and a few other Florida cities, then consider how much fun the oldest city can be!
I'm here to give you a peak at the best things you can do in the old city this spring. We really have it all: museums, beaches, condos, great food and we have all the tours you could ever dream of normal and paranormal alike!
The Museums
There are quite a few museums spread out across the city. My favorites are the Lightner Museum, Ripley's and the Lighthouse.
You can't beat the beauty of the Lightner Museum or the goofiness at Ripley's, and the Lighthouse has a wonderful view.
The Beach
We have several beaches to choose from. I love staying in the condos on the beach, which might be something you do while you're here! Grab your sunscreen, towels, volleyballs and head out.
There's no better way to get some nice Florida-sun.
The Food
The food in St. Augustine is some of the greatest you'll find. We have a lot to choose from, too. Bars, food trucks, cafes, restaurants and snack shops! My top picks?
1. Scarlett O'Hara's. Located at 70 Hypolita St, St. Augustine, Florida, 32084. They have an updated menu, a great vibe and a ghost bar! What's not to love?
2. Pizzalley's. Located at 117 St George St, St. Augustine, Florida, 32084. Go in through the entrance on St. George street (trust me). Then, order a Garbage Can pizza. You won't regret it!
3. Maple Street Biscuit Company. Located at 41 Cordova St, St. Augustine, Florida, 32084. Everything you need to know about this place is in the name. They're only open until 2 p.m. on weekdays, so make sure you don't miss them.
4. Kilwins. Located at 6 St George St, Ste 101. St. Augustine, Florida,32084. There are Kilwins all over, but St. Augustine's is the best. There are two of them on St. George Street!
The Tours
The two big tours are the Trolley Tours and the Ghost Tours. You'll love both! The cool thing about St. Augustine is that just about everything has a tour. You can even tour Flagler College and learn about how one of the grandest hotels came to be.
The most important thing to remember on spring break is to have lots of fun and to be careful. St. Augustine is a great place to be this spring, with just the right amount of shopping, dining and tanning! You can learn all kinds of things about the city's history from the museums and tours, and maybe you'll meet a few of its oldest (and spookiest) residents.
If you find you never want to leave the city, then you can visit the fountain of youth and stay with St. Augustine forever. Happy spring break, everyone!
