Spring break is fast approaching (or is already here for some) which means many of us get a week or two off! A break from worrying about classes — no homework, no studying, no professors, and NO stress. With all this free time, it can sometimes be hard to plan out and do all the activities you want.

If, like me, you're going to be in Southern California this spring break, here are some awesome spots you should plan to visit:

1. Disneyland!

OK, we all knew this was going to be on the list, right? You can't have a list of places to visit in Southern California without mentioning the happiest place on Earth. If you get the chance to visit this theme park, do it.

2. The San Diego Zoo!

This is one of my favorite places to visit when in Southern California. It's so interesting to learn about and see these animals. Plus, if you visit the Safari Park, you can visit the butterfly exhibit during this time of the year and see/interact with all the beautiful butterflies!

3. Crystal Cove State Park!

This is one of the most gorgeous places I've ever traveled to. The view is phenomenal and there are lots of interesting activities to do while you're there. Hiking, swimming, hanging out on the beach, exploring the cliff sides, and cool caves.

4. Universal Studios!

Another amazing theme park in SoCal. Take a tour of show and movie sets, go on fun rides, learn about how some of the most famous films were created, AND visit Harry Potter World. All in one park. Seriously, go — it's worth it.

5. A Beach!

Chances are, you won't go wrong with a beach in Southern California. While some are better than others, they all offer a little piece of paradise that you're going to want to visit this spring break.

6. Santa Monica Pier!

Seriously, this place is spectacular. There are rides, a beach, awesome views, and cool attractions everywhere you look. Plan to visit here for at least a day and enjoy all it has to offer!

7. Six Flags Magic Mountain!

Yes, another theme park, but come on! There are so many great ones in Southern California! Six Flags is definitely more suited for those of us who are thrill seekers and enjoy big and fast moving roller coasters.

Being a part of any organization undoubtedly comes with the pitfalls of being grouped into negative stereotypes, and sororities are certainly no exception. Here are the top few things, that I find at least, are some of the most irritating misconceptions that find their way into numerous conversations...

8. "The whole philanthropy thing isn't real, right?"

Well all those fundraisers and marketing should would be a waste then wouldn't they?

11 Things Summer Nannies Can Relate To

There are plenty of obstacles that come when taking care of kids, but it's a very rewarding experience.

As a college student, being a nanny over the summer is both enjoyable and challenging. Underneath the seemingly perfect trips to the pool or countless hours spent playing Monopoly are the obstacles that only nannies will understand. Trading in your valuable summer vacation in return for three months spent with a few children less than half your age may seem unappealing, but so many moments make it rewarding. For my fellow summer nannies out there, I know you can relate.

There are a lot of really easy, common names in the U.S. and while many of those simple names have different spellings, most of the time, pronunciation is not an issue that those people need to worry about. However, others are not as fortunate and often times give up on corrections after a while. We usually give an A+ for effort. So, as you could probably imagine, there are a few struggles with having a name that isn’t technically English. Here are just a few…

Daydreaming

day·dream (ˈdāˌdrēm/): a series of pleasant thoughts that distract one's attention from the present.

Daydreams, the savior of our life in class. Every type of student in the classroom does it at least once, but most cases it is an everyday event, especially in that boring class -- you know the one. But what are we thinking while we are daydreaming?

Puerto Ricans. They are very proud people and whether they were born on the island or born in the United States by Puerto Rican parent(s). It gets even better when they meet another fellow Puerto Rican or Latino in general. You’ll know quickly if they are Puerto Rican whether the flag is printed somewhere on their person or whether they tell you or whether the famous phrase “wepa!” is said.
