Spring break is right around the corner, and like Phineas and Ferb once said, "The annual problem for our generation is finding a good way to spend it". Here are just a few ideas on what to do for those 9 days.
Travel
GiphyI had to get this one out the way, because this is the most obvious answer. We get nine days off, which gives you nine days to travel somewhere and actually spend time there. Of course, not everyone can afford to travel (myself included), so this isn't always an option, but it's definitely something to consider. However, if you can't afford a whole flight and somewhere to stay, a cheaper form of traveling for you could be...
Going on a Road Trip
GiphyThere's nothing more fun to me than a good road trip. Whether it's across the state, or even up or down the coast, road trips allow for some time to yourself, but can also give you time to hang out and see sights with your closest friends. If this semester has been insanely busy for you, then this might be the trip you need.
Relax
GiphyThe whole point of break is to give everyone, students and staff, the time they need to relax and destress. Take this time to go see that movie you've been wanting to, or binge that HBO show you've heard so much about but haven't had the time to watch (I'm telling you to watch Euphoria, please note there are some HEAVY topics, but you're given a warning beforehand). Spend time doing nothing, or do some self-care. Whatever makes you relax, then do it!
Catch up on old homework (or get ahead)
GiphyNine days off! The options are defiantly endless, but if you know your second half of the semester is going to be a non-stop busy 7 weeks, then maybe its time to get ahead in order to allow yourself some time to actually breathe, especially all of y'all out there who are taking graduate school tests. If you missed a few assignments, then it never hurts to try and catch up on them either, just shoot your a professor an email. The worst thing they could say is no!
Work
GiphyLike the queen Rihanna once said, "work work work work work". Like me, there are many people who cannot afford to go travel far places, so there's always the option of staying at your job/internship and getting some extra money!
Whether you stay near or go far, your spring break is what you make of it. It is possible to stay here and have as much fun as it is to go to a different state/country. You just have to make it worth it. I hope everyone has a good and safe break!
