New ideas of destinations for an atypical spring break

Spring Break Bust

We're all so used to the boring old places for spring break. Mexico, Florida, Hawaii -- OK, maybe these places aren't so boring (especially if you've never been). However, many people have been experiencing a spring break destination limbo where they need something new and exciting. Here are six places you may have never thought of to visit for break this year!

1. Jamaica

Definitely an exotic location, Jamaica is easy to get to from just about anywhere. White sandy beaches will great you along with the perfect nightlife for college students.

2. New Orleans

As one of the most beautifully historic cities in the United States, New Orleans is a must-visit. For those not wiling to go international (or who maybe don't have a passport) this is the perfect new destination. Tour the French Quarter and experience the rich history of this Southern city.

3. Montreal

This is definitely not the typical spring break destination, but it's definitely worth the trip. If you're not into beaches and day parties in Mexico, Montreal serves as a nice cross-continental city in the always-friendly nation of Canada. Its French-influenced lifestyle is sure to please (and so are the croissants!).

4. New York City

Again, not exactly for those looking for white-sand beaches, but for city-goers who would like to stay in some chilly weather, this beautiful city is for you! NYC is host to tons of tourist attractions, e.g., Lady Liberty herself alongside a rich artistic society. See a Broadway show or stand under the bright lights of Lincoln Center to have an amazing break.

5. Vail, Colorado

Colorado has to be one of my favorite places in the U.S. For skiing and snow sports it's even better. High up in the mountains sits Vail, a gorgeous winter wonderland-like area full of ski resorts and class. Bring your snow gear and soak of the powder because Vail is the perfect winter-resort spot for the snow fans.

6. Disneyland or Disneyworld

I know it may sound silly, but c'mon. We all love anything Disney-related, and if you're staying close to home, why not have a few days of childlike fun in one of the happiest places on earth! Ride the Matterhorn, space mountain, or watch the firework display before close. No matter what age you are, Disney will never get old, especially for those hoping to get in touch with their childlike side this break.

I think the hardest thing about going away to college is figuring out how to become an adult. Leaving a household where your parents took care of literally everything (thanks, Mom!) and suddenly becoming your own boss is overwhelming. I feel like I'm doing a pretty good job of being a grown-up, but once in awhile I do something that really makes me feel like I'm #adulting. Twenty-somethings know what I'm talking about.

I went to a small high school, like 120-people-in-my-graduating-class small. It definitely had some good and some bad, and if you also went to a small high school, I’m sure you’ll relate to the things that I went through.

1. If something happens, everyone knows about it

Who hooked up with whom at the party? Yeah, heard about that an hour after it happened. You failed a test? Sorry, saw on Twitter last period. Facebook fight or, God forbid, real fight? It was on half the class’ Snapchat story half an hour ago. No matter what you do, someone will know about it.

Chandler Bing

I'm assuming that we've all heard of the hit 90's TV series, Friends, right? Who hasn't? Admittedly, I had pretty low expectations when I first started binge watching the show on Netflix, but I quickly became addicted.

Without a doubt, Chandler Bing is the most relatable character, and there isn't an episode where I don't find myself thinking, Yup, Iam definitely the Chandler of my friend group.

Working with the public can be a job, in and of itself. Some people are just plain rude for no reason. But regardless of how your day is going, always having to be in the best of moods, or at least act like it... right?

1. When a customer wants to return a product, hands you the receipt, where is printed "ALL SALES ARE FINAL" in all caps.

2. Just because you might be having a bad day, and you're in a crappy mood, doesn't make it okay for you to yell at me or be rude to me. I'm a person with feelings, just like you.

3. People refusing to be put on hold when a customer is standing right in front of you. Oh, how I wish I could just hang up on you!

RBF, or resting b*tch face, is a serious condition that many people suffer from worldwide. Suffers are often bombarded with daily questions such as "Are you OK?" and "Why are you so mad?" If you have RBF, you've probably had numerous people tell you to "just smile!"
