Spring Awakening Music Festival 2016
EDM Chicago

Spring Awakening Music Festival starts this Friday (June 10), and I am beyond excited to be able to go this year. I've been stalking the lineup over the last few months and the headliners are pretty great. Although I've never been to a music festival, I think I am ready to finally see all my favorite DJs and groups. The festival takes place in Addams/Medill Park by the University of Illinois at Chicago. Even though it's expected to be around 90 degrees outside, I am still extremely excited for the three days of nonstop music.

Each day offers a great lineup of artists and, obviously, a great time. The first day, Friday, features headliners like Deadmau5, Steve Aoki, Datsik, Borgore, Flux Pavillion, and Gramatik. This is just the first day of festivities, and I am so excited for it to kick off in about 12 hours! I have never seen Gramatik or any of my other favorite electronic music artists. I'm looking forward to seeing Datsik, too. Datsik should be able to throw down some great tracks, and I'm really hoping that they don't let the fans down this year.

Flux Pavillion has been one of my favorites for years! Flux Pavillion is an English producer and DJ. One of his most remixed songs would have to be "I Can't Stop," which launched him into international success throughout the electronic and dubstep community. Burger is another show that I'm going to try and see.

It's difficult to see every set because they are all intertwined and overlapping each other. It can get frustrating, but there's really only one act that I'm completely set on. That special place in my heart goes to Zeds Dead on Saturday. But I think the key to a festival is just going with the flow and not scheduling too many things. I can't wait to hear some new artists and DJs that I haven't heard, but I'm sure will definitely remember after the festival.

Saturday's lineup is actually the best of the three days, in my opinion. I'm mostly looking forward to Zeds Dead since I've been following their music for quite a while now. Zeds Dead is made up of two Canadian DJs: Dylan Mamid and Zachary Rapp-Rovan. Zeds Dead offers a mixture of house and electronic, which I find extremely great to dance and have a great time to at parties. Electronic dance music is a rising genre in the United States among millennials.

I'm most looking forward to them playing their song "Collapse," and I'll be pretty disappointed if they don't. But even if they don't, Saturday at Spring Awakening is definitely going to be something to remember! Kaskade and Carnage will also be playing on Saturday night, which I am looking forward to. Although I won't be able to see Kaskade, since it's playing at the same time as Zeds Dead, I've heard nothing but great reviews of their live performances. Carnage is another one of my favorites and I'm sure their set will be amazing! I can't wait to let all of you know how the festival went! A-Track will be performing their set on Saturday, as well. A-Track has been one of my favorite DJs, and I really can't wait to see what they have in store for the Spring Awakening festies.

Chainsmokers will also be making an appearance on Saturday of Spring Awakening. Chainsmokers have gained a great amount of recognition over the last year with their hit song "Don't Let Me Down." "Don't Let Me Down" hit No. 5 on the United States Billboard Hot 100! The Chainsmokers have reached a new level of fame, and I'm sure they're going to celebrate by playing an amazing set this weekend!

The two acts that I am most looking forward to on Sunday would have to be RL Grime and Crystal Castles. Crystal Castles has been popular for quite some time now and was formed in Toronto in 2003. Crystal Castles is sure to put on a great show, even without the famous Alice Glass. Alice Glass was the singer of the group up until 2014, and I'm definitely going to miss her wild performances on stage! I found out that they had found a new singer for the group, so I'll have to let you all know how I like the brand new, Crystal Castles! Henry Steinway, or RL Grime, will be performing at the Electronic Stage of the festival this Sunday. RL Grime, from what I've heard of his live sets, can always put down a great set for his concerts.

I can't even explain how excited I am to be attending Spring Awakening Music Festival for the first time tomorrow! It kicks off in about twelve hours and I'm still up! Please be sure to check out my next article to see how I liked all the sets that I mentioned above. I am sure I am going to have the time of my life, and I can't wait to fill you guys in on the hottest upcoming DJs!

Bob's Burgers
Adult Swim

Bob's Burgers is arguably one of the best and most well-written shows on tv today. That, and it's just plain hilarious. From Louise's crazy antics to Tina's deadpan self-confidence, whether they are planning ways to take over school or craft better burgers, the Belchers know how to have fun. They may not be anywhere close to organized or put together, but they do offer up some wise words once and awhile.

We're in college, none of us actually have anything together. In fact, not having anything together is one of our biggest stressors. However, there's a few little things that we do ever so often that actually make us feel like we have our lives together.

1. Making yourself dinner

And no this does not include ramen or Annie's Mac & Cheese. Making a decent meal for yourself is one of the most adult things you can do living on campus. And the food is much better than it would be at the dining hall.

I think the hardest thing about going away to college is figuring out how to become an adult. Leaving a household where your parents took care of literally everything (thanks, Mom!) and suddenly becoming your own boss is overwhelming. I feel like I'm doing a pretty good job of being a grown-up, but once in awhile I do something that really makes me feel like I'm #adulting. Twenty-somethings know what I'm talking about.

I went to a small high school, like 120-people-in-my-graduating-class small. It definitely had some good and some bad, and if you also went to a small high school, I’m sure you’ll relate to the things that I went through.

1. If something happens, everyone knows about it

Who hooked up with whom at the party? Yeah, heard about that an hour after it happened. You failed a test? Sorry, saw on Twitter last period. Facebook fight or, God forbid, real fight? It was on half the class’ Snapchat story half an hour ago. No matter what you do, someone will know about it.

Chandler Bing

I'm assuming that we've all heard of the hit 90's TV series, Friends, right? Who hasn't? Admittedly, I had pretty low expectations when I first started binge watching the show on Netflix, but I quickly became addicted.

Without a doubt, Chandler Bing is the most relatable character, and there isn't an episode where I don't find myself thinking, Yup, Iam definitely the Chandler of my friend group.
