Top 21 Anime of Spring 2020

Welcome to part 2!! It's a new year and a new season which means new seasons of your favorite anime. Finding new anime to watch is great! I mean, who doesn't love adding to their watchlist? But the best feeling is when you find a show that you really love and after it's over, you find out it's getting a new season. So many anime have been tragically cut short and just one season (Yuri On Ice) is available to watch. So whenever great anime's get new seasons, everyone in the community rejoices and eagerly awaits the new season. 2020 is a great year for returning anime, so here is the list of my favorite to watch anime whose additional season(s) will be premiering in 2020. Side note: There will be less explanation on these seeing as most are returning for at least their second, but some are returning for their third or fourth, so I don't want to have to give an overview of the entire series because that would take forever. Also, I figure if you're reading this you've already seen the first season.

Attack On Titan S4

The end is near my friends. Attack on Titan season 4 is set to be the end of the fantastic and show-stopping series. Eren, Armin, Mikasa and the Survey Core now face an enemy like none other. Season four will dive further into the history of the universe in AOT. Eren and his friends must now face the enemy across the sea, the nation of Marley. I can't wait to see what happens, but I will also be sad to see it end.

Fruits Basket S2

https://pin.it/37ndrOy

I am absolutely thrilled to see the return of this anime. Watching season one having never heard of this show before, Fruits Basket quickly became one of my favorite anime of all time. Fruits Basket, a reboot of the original, follows Tohru Honda as she ends up moving in with members of the reclusive Soma family. Through a random accident, Tohru finds out some members of the family carry a "curse" that turns them into animals from the Chinese zodiac whenever they are hugged by the opposite sex. Season 1 was an emotional rollercoaster. Every episode was moving and so heartfelt you felt warmed to the core. One episode alone would see you awwing, sighing, laughing and crying, all within the span of half an hour. Soon after season 1 came to an end, fans were delighted to hear season 2 was already in the works. Season 2 will no doubt be amazing and hopefully we will get to see Tohru and Kyo's relationship progress even more. Season 2 is set to premiere in April, so we will just have to wait and see what happens. #TohruandKyoForever

Re:Zero S2

https://www.reddit.com/r/Re_Zero/comments/b4fy3d/media_re_zero_season_2_anime_key_visual/

Re: Zero 2 continues following the adventure of Subaru and his friends as they battle against the witches' cult. When the series first aired, it quickly became a huge success even spawning a successful movie. The trailer sees Subaru walking silently on a grassy field. A few seconds later, we go on to a wide shot showing the oath is littered with bodies. Continuing on his path, he heads to a small clearing where a shadowing woman sits at a table drinking a cup of tea. The woman turns around and flashes Subaru an eerie grin. That's where it ends, so we can only wait for the season to air to find out what happens.

Food Wars: The Fifth Plate

https://www.anime-planet.com/anime/food-wars-the-fifth-plate

Food wars is coming back for a 5th season. Food Wars is what happens when you take a concept like Masterchef, make it an anime, and put it in an elite super-competitive school setting. After the end of season 3, I waited hopefully that they would catch up and dub season 4 at least by the time it was over. As of right now, I don't know if it has been dubbed but I hope it will be soon - maybe after the 5th season is over. If you like food competition shows, anime, and some fanservice, be sure to tune into Food Wars season 5!

Cells At Work S2

https://www.thenerdmag.com/cells-at-work-season-2-tv-anime-announced/amp/

Cells at Work follows the adventures of the cells in the human body - specifically, red blood cell as she goes about her daily routine of delivering oxygen throughout the body; but, of course, her bad sense of direction leads her to end up in some interesting circumstances along the way. This anime is not only educational but it's so entertaining to watch.

That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime S2

https://reelrundown.com/animation/Animes-Like-Tensei-Shitara-Slime-Datta-Ken

I remember when this show first came out - I didn't really have any interest in it. Fast forward a bit and I decided to give it a go. The story follows Satoru Mikami as he goes about his daily routine. One day while walking down the street, he ends up getting stabbed and ends up dying. As he's dying, a mysterious force interprets the pain and sensations that come with being stabbed as an attribute request. Skip forward a bit and Satoru wakes up as an overpowered slime in another world. This show is wacky, weird and all kinds of fun, so go check it out.

Kaguya-sama : Love is War S2

https://kaguyasama-wa-kokurasetai.fandom.com/wiki/Season_2

This show is essentially a Romeo and Juliet story, except for the fact that Romeo and Juliet have such big egos they refuse to act first. Thus is born the plan to see who can get the other to act first. Miyuki Shirogane is the student council president and alongside Kaguya Shinomiya as the Vice Pres, these two are the elite of the elite. Having worked together for so long the two have grown feelings for each other, but their pride as elites refuse to allow them to submit to each other. This starts an all-out war to whatever it takes to get a confession out of each other. Every day sees a new train and strategy to pull out all the stops. Season 2 will inevitably follow the two as they continue their high jinks towards one another. This has been on my list for a while, so I might give it a try soon. Season 2 release date is set to be announced in April.

28 Daily Thoughts of College Students

group of people sitting on bench near trees duting daytime

I know every college student has daily thoughts throughout their day. Whether you're walking on campus or attending class, we always have thoughts running a mile a minute through our heads. We may be wondering why we even showed up to class because we'd rather be sleeping, or when the professor announces that we have a test and you have an immediate panic attack.

The Great Christmas Movie Debate

"A Christmas Story" is the star on top of the tree.

1642
The Great Christmas Movie Debate
Mental Floss

One staple of the Christmas season is sitting around the television watching a Christmas movie with family and friends. But of the seemingly hundreds of movies, which one is the star on the tree? Some share stories of Santa to children ("Santa Claus Is Coming to Town"), others want to spread the Christmas joy to adults ("It's a Wonderful Life"), and a select few are made to get laughs ("Elf"). All good movies, but merely ornaments on the Christmas tree of the best movies. What tops the tree is a movie that bridges the gap between these three movies, and makes it a great watch for anyone who chooses to watch it. Enter the timeless Christmas classic, "A Christmas Story." Created in 1983, this movie holds the tradition of capturing both young and old eyes for 24 straight hours on its Christmas Day marathon. It gets the most coverage out of all holiday movies, but the sheer amount of times it's on television does not make it the greatest. Why is it,
then? A Christmas Story does not try to tell the tale of a Christmas miracle or use Christmas magic to move the story. What it does do though is tell the real story of Christmas. It is relatable and brings out the unmatched excitement of children on Christmas in everyone who watches. Every one becomes a child again when they watch "A Christmas Story."

It's the most wonderful time of the year! Christmas is one of my personal favorite holidays because of the Christmas traditions my family upholds generation after generation. After talking to a few of my friends at college, I realized that a lot of them don't really have "Christmas traditions" in their family, and I want to help change that. Here's a list of Christmas traditions that my family does, and anyone can incorporate into their family as well!

The 5 Phases Of Finals

May the odds be ever in your favor.

It’s here; that time of year when college students turn into preschoolers again. We cry for our mothers, eat everything in sight, and whine when we don’t get our way. It’s finals, the dreaded time of the semester when we all realize we should have been paying attention in class instead of literally doing anything else but that. Everyone has to take them, and yes, unfortunately, they are inevitable. But just because they are here and inevitable does not mean they’re peaches and cream and full of rainbows. Surviving them is a must, and the following five phases are a reality for all majors from business to art, nursing to history.
