Positivity, am I right?

Lately, I have been on a positivity kick. And it is kinda fun! So here is a list of ways for you guys to also spread the good feels and positivity and all that good stuff!

1. Smile.

Smiles, like yawns, are contagious. But unlike yawns, they brighten everyone's mood.

2. Laugh.

Laughter, such as yawns and smiles, are also contagious. And who cares if you have a weird laugh! It makes it that more infectious.

3. Compliment strangers.

Dude, if I see a girl rocking a cute outfit or a guy's eyebrows are on point, I cannot go without complimenting them! It is the best feeling. You don't know them, but they will always remember that compliment.

4. Say hi to everyone.

This is an awesome way to start the day. Not just yours, but everyone you see! Just a small greeting can brighten someone's day. Plus, it is a great exercise to break out of your shell!

5. Help lost people.

If you see someone lost or confused, go help them! They're going to be flustered and stressed. Lending a helping hand can do wonders. If you were in their position, wouldn't you want someone to come help you?

6. Make small talk with strangers.

Take the chance. Get to know someone. Make a new friend. Let someone know that they are worth the conversation.

7. Carry spare change or extra cash.

THIS. You have no idea how important this one is and can be. Nobody wants to go through the shameful "rummaging through the wallet" moment to find enough money for lunch. I have been there. It is not a great feeling. If you see someone who is struggling, offer to cover their meal. It'll make their day and it won't be a moment to forget. For the both of you.

8. Sit with a lone stranger for lunch.

Sure eating lunch by yourself can be relaxing. However, if you take the initiative to eat with someone new, it will be life changing! I remember there were days that I wouldn't eat lunch because all my friends were too busy and I didn't want to sit alone. Beat the stigma of eating alone and go sit with a stranger. Make a friend.

9. Be nice to everyone.

Seriously. Do I have to explain? Don't be dumb and a jerk. Words hurt!

10. Write a note.

Just write an anonymous note, wishing for someone to have a great day, reminding them that they matter, or a compliment on their smile.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
