Five Spray Tan Tips For A Perfect Lasting Tan

With summer coming to an end and fall coming the struggle to look sun kissed is real. Spray tans are the best and safest way to keep a summer glow all year round. But spray tans can be tricky to get right. Here is five ways to get the perfect spray tan.

Shave before your spray tan

You want to wait at least two to three days to shave because it can remove your spray tan. This is because shaving actually exfoliates your skin and removes the layer of skin that the tan is laying on.

Exfoliate the day before your spray tan

A spray tan lasts around five to seven days if you prep your skin right. Since a spray tan lays on the top layer of skin you want the tan to lay on a fresh layer of skin. So you have a good five days before your skin will exfoliate naturally.

Avoid using lotion the day of your spray tan

Lotion creates a barrier over your skin that makes it hard for the spray tan to absorb into your skin. But after a spray tan it is important to moisturize daily to keep your skin healthy and prevent exfoliation.

Wear loose clothing to your spray tan session

Loose clothes are important because it minimize the chances of your clothes rubbing your spray tan off, before it even develops. The first five hours of your spray tan is the most crucial time in your entire tan process because it takes time for the tan to fully dry. This the time your most vulnerable think of it like waiting for your nails to dry.

Find your perfect time for you to get your spray tan

I like to get my spray tan late at night. So I can go straight to bed after my spray tan to decrease my chances of it rubbing off. Some spray formula can take up to eight hours to develop so I love going to bed pale and pasty and waking up looking like i just spent the week on the beach.
