For many college students, traveling home on the weekends means multiple hours in the car. Something I love to do whenever I'm driving home on the weekends is to listen to good music I haven't heard in awhile. So, I present to you 15 songs perfect for a throwback playlist.

1. Destiny's Child — "Say My Name"

Seriously, no throwback playlist is complete without Destiny's Child.

2. 50 Cent — "Disco Inferno"

I'm pretty sure this song is just on every single one of my playlists.

3. No Doubt — "Just a Girl"

Okay, this song rocks my world. It was featured in the 90's film Clueless, which starred Alicia Silverstone as prep princess, Cher. What? Leave this song off the playlist? UGH, as if!

4. Ace of Base — "All That She Wants"

"Oh, what a morning... It's not a day for work. It's a day for catching sun!"

5. Spice Girls — "Wannabe"

I'll tell you what I really want- this song. On every playlist. Ever.

6. TLC — "No Scrubs"

This song debuted in 1999, when I was just two months shy of my first birthday. If I wasn't crooning this legendary pop song as my first words, my mother should be disappointed. Cause I ain't no scrub.

7. Tal Bachman — "She's So High"

For some reason, I didn't discover this song until I was 16 years old, even though it debuted the month AFTER my first birthday, and was #1 on Billboard's "Heatseekers" Chart.

8. The Cure- — "Friday I'm in Love"

Thursday, I don't care about you- it's Friday, I'm in love... WITH THIS SONG. Am I right?

9. Shakira — "Hips Don't Lie"

Ever since I discovered this song as a young child, I've wanted nothing more than to be just like Shakira. IS that feasible? Can I do that? My hips don't lie.... do they?

10. Justin Timberlake — "Rock Your Body"

Okay, I have to thank my mother for this song. And "Now That's What I Call Music! 13." RIP to that CD. This song ALSO graces almost every playlist I've ever made. Thank you, Justin Timberlake, for this fantastic bop.

11. Gwen Stefani ft. Akon — "The Sweet Escape"

When this song hit the charts in 2006, it quickly became the favorite of my younger sister. Who blared it allllll the time. Oh, if we could only go back to those days... That'd be one sweet escape.

12. Britney Spears — "Oops!... I Did it Again"

Oops!... I added this song to another playlist. Sorry about it.

13. Mariah Carey — "We Belong Together"

This was my favorite song when I was seven years old. Thank you, mom, for loving Mariah Carey, and introducing me to this track. It has always been one of my favorites.

14. Jason Mraz — "The Remedy (I Won't Worry)"

This song was the remedy for 2003. Problems: begone! You don't have to worry your life away- Jason Mraz said so.

15. Nelly — "Hot 'n Herre"

When this song comes on, you dance. "With a little bit of uh, uh, and a little bit of uh, uh." It's the rules.

Here's a link to my Spotify where you can find this playlist, and others! Happy listening :)

As college students, we are all familiar with the horror show that is course registration week. Whether you are an incoming freshman or selecting classes for your last semester, I am certain that you can relate to how traumatic this can be.

1. When course schedules are released and you have a conflict between two required classes.

Bonus points if it is more than two.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
