Adidas superstars, cap hats, ripped denim and joggers—as we scroll
through our Instagram feeds and walk through the malls, that is all we see. Does this mean the 90s are back and here to stay?
What about the bodysuits, satin bombers, and strappy heels we've been seeing? I think millennials are up to something... And Iʻm totally diggin' it. I've been through lots of mainstream fashion, and by far, this oneʻs my favorite.
Now that 2017 is here, a lot of 90s kids are finally out of the high school world and entering the real world of college, traveling, work and family. Although many of us are in different points in our lives, at least we can all share the fashion we rocked as children, as adults.
A lot of people say that as millennials, weʻre sensitive, weʻre needy, weʻre stubborn, and all we want to do is have the time of our lives and “make an impact on the world at the same time (whatever that means). But as we continue to conquer the world and prepare to be the rulers of the future, thereʻs only one way to do it and thatʻs with swag.
As a generation that can be both lazy and busy (however that works), we find ways to mix and match classic pieces that will help function through our every day lives. Need to spice up denim before leaving the office for happy hour? Slip on a pair of a black, strappy heels and itʻll transform your look from zero to a hundred. Or what about when errands are calling your name and you donʻt have five minutes to do your brows so they're on fleek? Or having a bad hair day? Baseball cap it is. I noticed baseball caps have been an accessory thatʻs been slayinʻ the game in every fabric texture, and the embroidered caps with corny quotes make statements left and right.
Matching sets and bodysuits are also making a comeback and oh, how it's giving me life! Getting ready in the morning canʻt be easier and busy days canʻt be any more comfy. Found in different styles, colors and fabrics, matching sets can simply be styled up or down with some basic heels or sneakers.
This is definitely the rise of athletic brands like Adidas, Calvin Klein, and of course, Nike. Sneakers, pullovers and jackets, cap hats, and even leggings of these brands make going to the gym chic. With easy colors and simple designs, sport brands have staple pieces that are a must in every closet. Plus, donʻt you want everyone to know you got in a work out? (Even if you didnʻt!)
All in all, the 90s kids have brought back classic, basic fashion in a more comfortable and sexy way. This sport-meets-glam trends make fashion so effortless and versatile. Welcome back 90s and we hope you stay a little longer.
