Halloween 1st October is undoubtedly one of my favorite times of the year and also the start of the best time of the year.

I like to call the months of October, November, and December the weekend of the year because they each have the best holidays: Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Christmas. But with Halloween around the corner and cuffing season in tow, you'll wanna find some really cute date ideas to cuddle up with your "boo" thang and enjoy with, and that's where I got you covered!

1. Survive a haunted house.

This is the ultimate horror classic. When you and your date hit up one of these spooked-up joints, you'll be with the perfect company when a zombie or werewolf jumps out at you. Well, unless they start running first, then you might be screwed.

2. Grab your flannels and head to a pumpkin patch.

This is probably the most Instagrammable date there is. Pumpkin patches are not only free to attend, but they have abundances of pumpkins galore! Depending on which one you go to, some pumpkin patches even have hayrides and petting zoos at a very low charge, so you can really get into the fall spirit despite it still being so hot in Florida.

3. Travel through a corn maze.

Try and find your way out of this one! If you're feeling adventurous and you both already finished the maze without getting lost, you and your date can play tag and chase each other around its twists and turns.

4. Go on a ghost tour.

If you're into the paranormal stuff, find out where you can go on a ghost tour near you. Tour guides will talk about the spirits that haunt the location you're touring, and even point out the specific places the ghosts might hang out! Personally, I would strongly suggest going with a date or a few more people unless you're really brave. In any case, we all applaud you.

5. Try an escape room.

Here is another emerging classic that you and your date can enjoy together. Use each other's strengths to your advantage as you search high and low for clues on how to get out of there! And even if you don't make it out in time, at least you made an effort, right?

6. Go costume shopping.

Have you and your "boo" thang still not found your costumes? Don't worry, since Halloween is a few weeks away, you still have plenty of time! But here's a word of advice: Please, for crying out loud, do not dress up as a cowboy and an Indian unless you want to be despised by nearly everyone.

7. Read each other scary stories.

Dim the lights, make some hot cocoa, and get cozy under the covers while you and your date read some spooky stories to each other or recount your own. You'll get bonus points if you take something from "Scary Stories To Tell In The Dark." You'll get even more bonus points if you hold a flashlight under your face while you get to the extra-spooky parts.

8. Visit a Halloween party.

If any of you have friends or know any cool people throwing a Halloween party, slide through and dance the night away! Or, you know, just sit around and chill like a villain while nonchalantly drinking punch. That's cool, too.

9. Hit the town!

If you don't feel like going to a party and just feel like taking shots, you and your date can go downtown for a bar crawl! There won't be a shortage of pumpkin and apple cider shots any time in October so you can really get your autumn on! Remember to drink responsibly and please never drink and drive.

I'm sure, like me, many of you received lots of gift cards over the holidays. After working retail seasonally, here are a few tips that I learned in order to make the employees at your favorite store just a little happier and not want to charge you extra on your purchase for being awful. Here are some times when you should be nicer to retail workers than you actually are!

5 Untold Struggles Of The Short Friend

I'm the Short Friend. I've been the Short Friend since about the seventh grade. I'm the one who stands in the front of the photos, gets made fun of for their height, and still shops in the kids department.

This article is not for the Almost Short Friends, i.e. the 5'3" and 5'4" Friends. No no, this is for the Actually Short Friends, i.e. the Barely Scraping 5'1" and shorter Short Friends.

This semester I started my journey as a member of my University's Alumni Outreach Team. This means a lot of things, but primarily it means that I get to make phone calls to parents and alumni two nights a week to update contact information, collect things like business cards and volunteer hours, and even ask for money.
