The type of lifestyle I live with being a full time college student and working a part time job, and having free time with my best friends is little to none. This weekend I'm going on a last minute road trip with my best friends, and the coolest thing is we are visiting a church on this trip. My friends have just as a hectic schedule in their own life as I do, that when we have a opportunity to hang out we take advantage of the time together. If any of you were wondering where this road trip is leading us to, we will be making our way to Charlotte, North Carolina. We intend on going to the early service the church offers, then we might do a little shopping and eat lunch at a cute mom and pop restaurant. The time that we will have on this trip will give us the opportunity to catch up on everyone's life at the moment, and feel a little sane in all the stresses of life.
Your question might be why take a road trip, well for one we originally intended to spend the day celebrating one of my best friends birthday and instead she decided she wanted to take a road trip. Again as we try to schedule time for each other, it becomes very hard and one thing my best friend wanted was a whole day to hangout just all of us. I'm sure this trip will be filled of endless and hilarious memories we will remember when we are old and gray.
With every road trip comes the snacks and music and both these things will bring my friends and I closer together. My group of friends like everything from junk food to healthy options for the snacks part of the trip. I don't know about you and your friends but when it comes to the music aspect to road trips, we have got it covered! We got Hannah Montana to High School Musical, young Justin Bieber to Justin Bieber today, today's hits, and 2000's top hits. I'm pretty sure there will be many car jams throughout this trip, and they usually end with us laughing till our stomachs hurts.
A spontaneous road trip gets you out of your comfort zone, and see parts of the world you haven't seen before. We have a whole day to do whatever we won't with no limits, and we choose to spend it with each other. Who knows we might see a sign for a place or attraction and decide to go. Total flexibility! No matter the destination, I know the people I will be surrounded by throughout this trip will give be the best company, many laughs, and a few nervous moments (most likely with the directions).
I highly advise you to take a day to have with your friends or family, and try to not-plan a trip. Let it be spontaneous, don't let time get the best of you because it will show you some of the best things in life. Some people even have a road trip challenge, where you show up to the airport with money to buy a ticket, a bag, and extra money for the trip. That's a spontaneous trip I'd love to take. Where will your next spontaneous trip take you?
