I woke up this morning in my bed at school with plans to lay around all day and maybe get some housework done. In no way did I expect I would be writing this article at the beach while sitting by one of my closest childhood friends from home. Sometimes life hands you lemons and you just have to jump in the car and take a spontaneous road trip and here’s why:
1. No plans are the best plans
The absolute worst part of any vacation is the agony of planning it. It’s just so damn stressful, you have to pick and plan every little detail so you can relax when you get there. With a spontaneous trip you just go and hope for the best.
2. Decisions are made quickly
I hate when people take forever to make a decision on something. I am totally that friend in the group that gets annoyed and makes the final decision after trying to pick a restaurant for more than three minutes. On spontaneous trips you have a short time to decide things so you just gotta pick and stick to it.
3. It gives you a break in routine
Yes, having a routine is great for you mentally and physically, but come on, you know things get a little mundane and a road trip with your besties might be just what you need.
4. You make awesome memories
Even if it’s the worst trip of your entire life (doubtful), you’ll make memories that you’ll remember for the rest of your life. And you’ll take awesome pics for when you’re too old to remember. Do it for the insta.
5. You meet people you probably never would have otherwise
Those vacation vibes always bring people out of their shell and I don’t know about you, but I always meet the most interesting people in random places.
