The Hotel San Carlos in Phoenix has become one of the city's most popular attractions for its history of haunted happenings. The hotel's fame stems from the hotel's chilling past.
Upon entering the lobby, guests are transported back to the time of Hollywood's Golden age, when the hotel was at the peak of its popularity. Crystal chandeliers adorn the ceilings and the eerie candlelight-like glow reflects off the original copper elevators.

Each floor is themed after a famous name in old-time Hollywood- many of whom were frequent guests at the hotel. From the Marilyn Monroe Suite to the Clark Gable room, guests can take a walk through history just by wandering the halls. Alongside these exclusive suites are posters displaying some of the most chilling moments in the history of the hotel.

One of the most famous stories is that of Leone Jensen.
Just weeks after the hotel's grand opening in 1928, 22-year-old Leone Jensen jumped to her death from the roof of the hotel. Described by the newspapers of the time as a "pretty blonde," guests today still report sightings of a woman in white roaming the halls and disappearing to the roof. The tragedy of Leone Jensen marks the inception of the hotel's ghostly reputation.

Ms. Jensen is not the sole ghostly guest at Hotel San Carlos. Guests have reported sightings of a mysterious man dressed in a trenchcoat who appears from time to time, and also reports the strong aroma of a freshly-lit cigar following the man's appearances. Others have reported hearing the laughter of children running up and down the halls.
The hotel draws guests from all over the country hoping to experience one of the many ghostly encounters that have been reported within those hotel walls. San Carlos still operates as a hotel in the heart of the city, so both supernatural enthusiasts and business people looking for a room close to the office can rent a room and have a taste of the haunted history that has made a name for the hotel.
