In the Spirited City of Dreams, there are people all around you. Wherever you walk, there are big signs and attractions, entertainment & activities for all ages. How could you not fall in love with the grand city that is New York City? In addition to the popularity it name carries; this exquisite city has the life and potential to become an even more loved city as the years continue. No matter what season it is, and no matter who you come with; whether alone or with family & friends there is never a lack of things to do in NYC. New York is considered home for me. I have so much history & knowledge about the city you might even call me a New York junkie. I can show you how to get from one corner to the next street, and even tell you which times the subway leaves. From Chinatown all the way across to Mt. Vernon/Portchester I know just how to get places. I live in Virginia right now and being away from my first home has gotten a little depressing. I haven't seen some of my closest friends in years and it kills me on the inside because getting to see them again would make things for me so much better. Hopefully, after I graduate from Norfolk State University in 2019 I will be financially stable enough to move back up and be reunited with my friends and my city.
Everyone has their own opinion when it comes to the best times to be in New York City. Some people like spring & summer in New York, others prefer fall & winter. Personally, the absolute best time to be in New York is the end of summer. That's early fall, going into winter. I call that time a pre-transition. It is the best time because the season is changing & for me I can dress the best. Fall/winter apparel is my definite "know-how". From extra Starbucks coffee runs in the mornings, cute leg-warmers from Forever 21, those to-die-for knit sweaters from Urban Outfitters to the positive spirit & attitude the season puts people in. It becomes more positive because everyone knows that Christmas is right around the corner, so how can you not be even more blessed & cheerful? I also have love for New York City in the summertime as well.
During the summertime I always can go to Central Park to kick back and relax. Whenever I'm there I can get so much accomplished, painting, vibing and hanging out with friends to reading a favorite book of mine, there's nothing you can do wrong. Depending on how you think about New York and how you take it all in it can make a huge impact on some of the things you might decide to do while in New York. No matter how long you've lived in New York or even if you're a tourist, there will always be something for you to do.
New York's energy is something no other city has or can compare to and that is what makes it so grand. In the city known for positive vibes and dreams coming true, how could you not love New York City?
