What is that little change that can spice up your routine?
Before it was easy to take that spontaneous step because your routine was just homework and making sure you went to your next class. Plus, that routine wasn't for eight hours a day, five times a week and you had the choice if you wanted to skip those classes. Ten years later having a full-time job means working eight hours a day. Also, having a partner in your life with two or four other little feet running around can defiantly make life a little busy. A routine allows chaos to be under control and causes stabilization. Right now, life is pretty good. you're paying your bills, you have a full-time job, gas in your car, a place to call home and food to put on your table. What else can a person ask for?
Well you might have all those things working for you right now but that necessary doesn't mean your content with it all. It's good to feel accomplished as well as have finances in place which overall maintains that stability, but the question remains, is it enough to keep you satisfied?
Now take a second and think about your everyday routine. 85% of us working people wake up, get some coffee into our system, sit at a desk for eight hours and then go home, cook dinner and repeat. I mean if some people are satisfied with that routine then its enough for them. But for some of us, our energy comes from excitement and new opportunities. We crave the change in our daily routine. We want the unexpected to happen. Now how does one go about changing that boring, unsatisfied daily routine of theirs?
Here are some suggestions that might shape up that routine in small ways.
1.Make one day of the week your day. Treat yourself to breakfast and a coffee on your way to work from your favorite bakery or chain restaurant. At lunch, instead of eating the leftovers from dinner last night go get those fries you been craving.
2.Go out or stay in. Instead of taking that drive home and contemplating how much you don't want to cook dinner tonight, go out or get takeout. Now if it comes to managing expenses, be smart. Do not overindulge and know how much you can afford.
3.Throw out the excuse and get creative. Need a smile? Get creative, dance in your living room, paint a picture, sing in the shower, rearrange your living room, write a poem, create new content for your Instagram page. The world is yours, be creative and never lose your smile.
4.Staying Active. A healthy and refreshed mindset comes from taking care of your body. Whether you have time on your break during lunch or have some spare time after work, find the time to stretch out your body.Your body is your temple and it is the only one you will ever have, take care of it.
5.Stick to that goal. Everyone has that certain goal that they have been meaning to get too, but life seems to be getting in the way. At the end of your workday, find the time and work on that goal little by little. Projects are a great excitement booster.
Spicing up your routine does not mean you need to go to extraordinary measures to achieve them. It's the small things that make the biggest differences. Take these suggestions in account, try them out. If it's not working for you then come up with your own. Life is too short to follow a path that doesn't make you smile.
Quoted from my favorite author, Sarah J Mass - "If you follow the classical pattern, you are understanding the routine, the tradition, the shadow -- you are not understanding yourself."
