If you are someone who gets a paycheck and proceeds to swipe your debit card like there's not tomorrow, then is completely shocked when your bank account says your checking balance is $4.51 cents...this article is for you. For those who always assume that you are a millionaire and have unlimited funds, you're not alone. Some just can't seem to grasp the concept of money, until realizing there is less than $10 to their name.

Here are the stages you go through if you constantly spend more money than you have.

Stage 1: Thinking you're doing well on money then getting a wake-up call when you check your account balance

Then backtracking looking through all your transactions and realizing you wasted so much money on things you believed at the time were essential (i.e. pizza and red wine).

Stage 2: Giving yourself a talking to and finally attempting to budget... key work "attempt"

"Self. The spending stops now. You're grown, time to start acting like it."

Stage 3: Realizing that budgets are too difficult to figure out and you should just spend it and be happy

Convincing yourself you'll get more money... eventually... somehow. And money doesn't make you happy amirite!

Stage 4: Finding yourself in a big pit of despair when your card gets declined, yet again, while in line at Target

No no...this is probably just a big mistake, I know I have money on this card, like $200 dollars or something. So embarrassing, how old am I?

Stage 5: Asking yourself "why are you like this?"

What is possessing you to buy clothes you'll never wear, wine three times a week, and stupid amazon face masks that you ever won't use? The adrenaline of swiping and typing your card number? What is it?!

Stage 6: Having to go a solid week and a half with less than $20 on your card until the next payday

Watching friends get chipotle, buy new shoes, order clothes to the house, while you reminisce about the good old days and the times where you could afford those luxuries. Declining friends invitations left and right so that you can sit on the couch and self-loathe. Here you are, bored with only $18.32 to show for yourself.

Stage 7: Finally getting your money and celebrating payday like you just won the lottery

Feeling so rich and money conscious for the first few days and actually being able to think logically, "Why get Chipotle when I have food at home?"

Then after the weekend, on Sunday morning, you check your balance and find yourself, yet again, with nothing to show for. The cycle continues and for some reason unbeknownst to you it's never learned from. Just accept it.

18 Things I Want To Do Now That I'm 18

I'm technically an adult, so I'm legally required to live a little, right?

For the entirety of my high school career, I was always seen as the goody-two-shoes. I never got in trouble with a teacher, I kept stellar grades, and when I wasn't doing extracurricular activities, I was at home studying. Even when I did go out, it was usually with a bunch of fellow band geeks. The night would end before 11:00 PM and the only controversial activity would be a fight based on who unfairly won a round of Apples-to-Apples when someone else clearly had a better card (I promise I'm not still holding a grudge).

Now that I'm officially an adult, I want to pursue some new things. I want to experience life in a way that I never allowed myself to do prior to entering college. These are the years that I'm supposed to embark on a journey of self-discovery, so what better way to do that than to create a bucket list?
