1. Finally! A 4 month break from school

Summer break is needed by all of us. Especially with ending the school year with finals, a break is essential. Unless you're taking classes this summer. If so, I'm so sorry for you.

2. The initial excitement to be home

The first week is great. You finally get to see your parents, siblings, and pets again! Nothing could ever bring down your excitement.

3. Going back to your old job and actually having money

For those of you who didn't have a job during the school year, you appreciate the feeling of having a source of income again.

4. Eating way too much good quality, home cooked food

There's nothing better than going from gross cafeteria food to your mom's home cooked meals. Time to start exercising again!

5. Realizing you’re back under your parent’s roof and they have rules you have to respect

I know it's hard when the last 8 months were complete freedom, but if your parents are going to let you come home and stay rent free, the least you could do is respect their rules.

6. Not ever wanting to leave your bed

Goodbye twin XL, hello comfort.

7. Trying to see all of your friends and then realizing that you all have jobs and no free time to see each other anymore

You're all back in town and it's a must that everyone gets together to catch up and share stories of their life in college. But it's a little hard to do that when everyone's working legit jobs and has zero free time.

8. So. Much. Netflix.

Having free time means being able to catch up on all the Netflix shows and movies you've been dying to see.

9. Getting sick of your family and counting down the days until you’re back at school

It's been fun, but how long until summer ends and we're all back in school?

It's officially December. There is less than a month of 2024, and I still feel like yesterday was summer. Now comes the merriest time of the year, the Christmas season.

Everyone has been waiting for this time of year since mid-October (which is way too early, in my opinion) or before. It's a time of love, family, memory-making, and gift-giving. A lot of times when I ask friends and family what they want, I get a lot of "I don't know" or "I don't care."

Find excitement in your life and start exploring wherever you are right here, right now.

mu bucket list

I was sitting at my cubicle, now that I am an adult, looking at the rain pouring down on the windowsill, bumming on life, wishing for the rain to just stop for a full day.

There are moments where we count down the hours until work is over and how many more days till the weekend, and this many weeks until something exciting. Or something like that? Well, I was bumming because my next day off from work is not until Memorial Day weekend, which is not until the end of May. And since this is my first year out of college being a “real person,” I am totally missing the winter, spring and summer breaks. I am sure all of us have felt this way even if just for a hot minute…

Great Value Colleges

If you go to or went to Kent State, then more than likely you have done or will do some of these things.

1. You’ve slipped and fallen on the ice at least once.

The winters at Kent are brutal, and while the heated sidewalks and some great snow boots are always a help, there’s no chance you won’t bust it on the ice at least once in your four plus years at school.
