How To Spend Valentine's Day On A Budget

You either love Valentine'd Day or you dread it every year. Whether you have a long time partner you are spending your fifth Valentine's Day together or a new boyfriend you still want to do something nice, fun, and even romantic together. However, being in college doesn't give you the biggest budget to spend on your lover. No worries though, here are some ways to spend your Valentine's Day on a budget.

1. Cook at Home: Going out to a fancy restaurant is overrated. Stay at home with you significant other and cook together. You can prepare each others favorite dishes and you can dine is a more intimate setting rather than being in a room full of other couples.

2. Go ice-skating: This tiles together the winter weather and a fun light-hearted activity. Maybe you are your significant other aren't too serious yet, so spend Valentine's Day doing something not so serious or romantic like ice-skating. You night will be full of laughs and possible falls.

3. Explore the city/town: Here in Philly there are endless streets to wonder down with your significant other. Maybe you can stop by that ice cream shop you've been dying to try for a quick (and cheap) sweet treat.

4. Have a movie marathon: This is the ultimate laid back throw on your jammies and cuddle up date. Make some popcorn and snuggle up with your significant other and watch that movie series you've been meaning to watch or binge watch a Netflix series.

5. $5 Gifts: One of the most common things during Valentine's Day is to buy your significant other the typical chocolates, flowers, and a stuffed animal which can be very expensive. Instead, give each other a $5 gift budget which can bring out some of the most creative and meaningful presents.

11 Things Summer Nannies Can Relate To

There are plenty of obstacles that come when taking care of kids, but it's a very rewarding experience.

As a college student, being a nanny over the summer is both enjoyable and challenging. Underneath the seemingly perfect trips to the pool or countless hours spent playing Monopoly are the obstacles that only nannies will understand. Trading in your valuable summer vacation in return for three months spent with a few children less than half your age may seem unappealing, but so many moments make it rewarding. For my fellow summer nannies out there, I know you can relate.

There are a lot of really easy, common names in the U.S. and while many of those simple names have different spellings, most of the time, pronunciation is not an issue that those people need to worry about. However, others are not as fortunate and often times give up on corrections after a while. We usually give an A+ for effort. So, as you could probably imagine, there are a few struggles with having a name that isn’t technically English. Here are just a few…

Daydreaming

day·dream (ˈdāˌdrēm/): a series of pleasant thoughts that distract one's attention from the present.

Daydreams, the savior of our life in class. Every type of student in the classroom does it at least once, but most cases it is an everyday event, especially in that boring class -- you know the one. But what are we thinking while we are daydreaming?
