Everyone gets discouraged some time or another. You have set a goal for yourself that has become extremely difficult to accomplish and may even seem unachievable. You tried, it didn’t work out the first time, so you end up calling it quits. You’ve lost all motivation to keep going. Little did you know, success was just around the corner, but now you’re even farther away from it since you gave up. For anything you may be going through right now that seems like a bit more than you can handle, take these five reasons to persevere into consideration. It’ll most likely change your life.
1. Your mind is the only thing you have to convince. With anything that you do in life, easy or hard, you subconsciously tell yourself whether you can or cannot. Use that to your advantage. When approaching an obstacle, have the mindset that you will overcome it, and you will. Mindset is everything. Remember that.
2. You don’t want to have any regrets. This can be explained in one simple quote from Rory Cochrane: “I do not regret the things I’ve done, but those I did not do.” Don’t give up. You’ll never know what you could have accomplished. If you quit, well ...
3. You are strong, despite what anyone says. Just think of all the situations you overcame in the past. You wouldn’t have gotten through it without the strength you have within yourself. If you’re ever feeling weary, like you can’t go any further, keep going. You’re strong enough to get through it.
4. Failure is inevitable. That may seem like a daunting statement, but it is true. Instead of being afraid of failure, use it as an opportunity to learn and grow. After all, the only true failure is when you stop trying.
5. Your perseverance can be of inspiration to others. You may be going through the same exact situation as someone else, only they didn’t have the power to keep going. With your success in not giving up and achieving all that you wanted to, you may become an inspiration to those others who let the hard times get the best of them. You will be living proof that despite the storm now, the sun will come out later.
Hopefully, you use these five tips the next time you feel like giving up. Remember: You are bigger than any obstacle and are strong enough to overcome it. Keep going.
“Whether you think you can, or think you can’t, you’re right.” –Henry Ford
