'Speechless' In The Live-Action Aladdin Is A Must-Listen

"Try to lock me in this cage, I won't just lay me down and die, I will take these broken wings, And watch me burn across the sky" These are words from the new original song, "Speechless" sung by Naomi Scott in the new Disney remake 'Aladdin' which if you haven't seen it yet, what are you doing?!

However, while Aladdin's story retold is an amazing tale. The most heartwrenching part to me was the music specifically speaking of the new song previously mentioned. "Speechless" has become my favorite song because it goes on to show that you have a voice and it is powerful so you should never feel that you have to hold back from using it.

Princess Jasmine may have had her own reason for finally standing up for what she believes in but that is not to say that you cannot as well. I like the way Shannon Alder puts it when she says "When you give yourself permission to communicate what matters to you in every situation you will have peace despite rejection or disapproval. Putting a voice to your soul helps you to let go of the negative energy of fear and regret."

So much is going on in the world today and so few are fighting for what they want because they fear it could never happen for them. The sad part about all of this is that if everyone who feels like nothing could ever work out in their favor stayed speechless, No one will ever know how they feel.

If you see something wrong is being done, by not protesting, it makes it so much easier or the evil to continue. In another part of the song she says "I won't be silenced, You can't keep me quiet,Won't tremble when you try it, All I know is I won't go speechless 'Cause I'll breathe, When they try to suffocate me Don't you underestimate me 'Cause I know that I won't go speechless"

We also know that not all the time do bad things happen, but you have a voice even then. You have an opinion that is worth listening to, and your thoughts are not to just be waisted floating around in the wind.People do care to hear them whether you believe it or not and if people do not care for what you think, why should you chase their thoughts when they are just as human as you are.

Whether you believe in god enough to say he gave you a brain, or if you don't you still possess one. But that was given along with the life inside you and you have every right to stand up, stand tall and be proud about what it is you have to say. You don't have to be Princess Jasmine or Prince Ali who was later revealed to be Aladdin himself. Feel free to be you because honestly, that is the best you can be. Aladdin also teaches that lesson throughout his movie too so i highly recommend that you go see it and when you do I hope you are as mesmerized by this fantastic song as much as I was.

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.

December... it's full of finals, due dates, Mariah Carey, and the holidays. It's the worst time of the year, but the best because after finals, you get to not think about classes for a month and catch up on all the sleep you lost throughout the semester. But what's worse than finals week is the last week of classes, when all the due dates you've put off can no longer be put off anymore.

Thanksgiving break is over and Christmas is just around the corner and that means, for most college students, one hellish thing — finals week. It's the one time of year in which the library becomes over populated and mental breakdowns are most frequent. There is no way to avoid it or a cure for the pain that it brings. I know every college student has daily thoughts throughout their day. Whether you're walking on campus or attending class, we always have thoughts running a mile a minute through our heads. We may be wondering why we even showed up to class because we'd rather be sleeping, or when the professor announces that we have a test and you have an immediate panic attack.
