Special People

We all at least have one person in our life that is special to us.

I believe God places people in our lives for a reason. Some of these people are here to teach us a lesson, help guide us along life’s journey, and for so many more reasons. These special people or person in our life may only be around for a season or for our whole life. In those particular seasons God knows who you need there and who you don’t need there. These special people can be a family member, a close friend, a coworker, a spouse, a teacher, a church member, or whoever. No matter what part of your life they showed up they become very special to you.

These people display so much strength, love, and they always put others first. They are the true definition of a caring and people loving person. They could be breaking on the inside but on the outside they walk with their head held high and a strong face on for the others around them. You can go to this person for anything and they always give the best honest advice. These people are not perfect, they may fail daily but they move on and learn from those mistakes. These are the people who honestly lead by example, they actually practice what they preach. They love no matter what.

To some this special person in your life can be the meanest person they have ever met but in your eyes they are just a strong person who may not deal with people’s nonsense. They even may find themselves worthless and don’t see themselves as you see them. Sometimes in life it’s okay to have someone that thinks the sunrises and sets with you. We all need someone who sees our worth more than we see it in ourselves.

I am thankful for every person that God has placed in my life. Some are very dear to me and mean the world to me. Some of them only lasted for a season and some have been in my life for a few years. I’ve learned so much from every single one of them. Some taught me not to take life so seriously and some taught me that it’s quite alright to have a tender heart. I’ve learned about God from most of those people and they have displayed the love of God like no one else. I like to think these special people God place in our lives are angels in disguise.

God has placed one particular person in my life a couple years ago. This sweet soul is so dear to me. They display so much love and strength. They show that it’s alright to be angry sometimes and to not be okay sometimes. They are honest and always put others first. I know that God has placed this person in my life for a reason. In these short few years they have taught me so much about life and hard work.

It is okay to display love, to show someone you care for them, and to let them know you are there for them. When people tell you not to love so hard make sure that you love even harder. This world needs more love and more special people.

7 Ways to Make Your Language More Transgender and Nonbinary Inclusive

With more people becoming aware of transgender and non-binary people, there have been a lot of questions circulating online and elsewhere about how to be more inclusive. Language is very important in making a space safer for trans and non-binary individuals. With language, there is an established and built-in measure of whether a place could be safe or unsafe. If the wrong language is used, the place is unsafe and shows a lack of education on trans and non-binary issues. With the right language and education, there can be more safe spaces for trans and non-binary people to exist without feeling the need to hide their identities or feel threatened for merely existing.

Blair Waldorf
Stop Hollywood

For those of you who have watched "Gossip Girl" before (and maybe more than just once), you know how important of a character Blair Waldorf is. Without Blair, the show doesn’t have any substance, scheme, or drama. Although the beginning of the show started off with Blair’s best friend Serena returning from boarding school, there just simply is no plot without Blair. With that being said, Blair’s presence in the show in much more complex than that. Her independent and go-getter ways have set an example for "Gossip Girl" fans since the show started and has not ended even years after the show ended. Blair never needed another person to define who she was and she certainly didn’t need a man to do that for her. When she envisioned a goal, she sought after it, and took it. This is why Blair’s demeanor encompasses strong women like her.

singing
Cambio

Singing is something I do all day, every day. It doesn't matter where I am or who's around. If I feel like singing, I'm going to. It's probably annoying sometimes, but I don't care -- I love to sing! If I'm not singing, I'm probably humming, sometimes without even realizing it. So as someone who loves to sing, these are some of the feelings and thoughts I have probably almost every day.
