Exercise—we know it can be grueling, difficult, and can make you extremely sore. But it ultimately makes you look better day-to-day. Exercise is similar to painting in which you can pick your style of art. There is CrossFit, yoga, bodybuilding, weight lifting, power lifting, spinning, or just a simple run. No matter which one you choose or however many you choose, exercise is an art form.
Take bodybuilding for example. A body builder will go day in and day out trying to achieve the “perfect” aesthetic look, dieting down to very low body fat percentage and show their body in a body building competition to a group of people in hopes of having the best body. Weightlifting, powerlifting, CrossFit, yoga, and running are focused on proper form. This is where the art flourishes. There is something beautiful about watching these types of exercise because of our innate love of order.
Exercise is a stress reliever, and a health booster. We can all probably think of a person or persons who look like they work out, and there is something appealing about this. This is the second reason why exercise is an art form. When we see someone walking down that street and we see tone, the form of their body, and the wonderful way the clothes hang off of someone we can appreciate the way that these people look.
We all know that to look that way takes a certain kind of commitment because these people think of exercise as a lifestyle, just like painting or drawing. These individuals took the bull by the horns just like anyone would with something they love.
Living a healthy lifestyle and being fit is a commitment. However, it doesn’t have to be something that you love necessarily. Anyone that lives this lifestyle can tell you that it is not always easy, but in the end, it pays off. Not solely for the way in which you look, but in the way you feel. Being healthy makes you feel good. You end up having more energy throughout the day, sleeping better, have a healthier cardiovascular system, as well as many other benefits.
Exercise also promotes longevity. Who doesn’t want to live a longer and healthier life?
The mental health benefit from exercise is the best solution for a poor outlook on life. If you’re one to struggle with depression, anxiety, alcohol abuse, drug abuse, and whatever else; exercise may just be that solution for you. Involving yourself in fitness is a great solution for poor mental health. Working out makes your mind clearer, and there’s always something that is gratifying after finishing a tough workout.
Exercise is truly an art form that can be compared to painting, music, drawing, and sculpture. Creating and transforming your body and health into something great is not only beneficial for you, but your friends as well.
I’m positive that your friend and family will appreciate the hard work you put in to achieve something you want. To me, the most important parts are the benefits this art give to your mental health and overall well-being.
