You Are Enough

Rooting out the core of our belief

You Are Enough

Our society has placed such high expectations on our lives that being normal is not being good enough. I hear it all the time and say it all the time: “I am not good enough” and that thought has become a belief. I am not good enough for a significant other, I am not good enough for a specific job, I am not good enough for my family, I am not good enough for the future. Our continuous thoughts can send us spiraling out of control and we start believing that our life is not worth living. When we come to our senses and realize the place we are in, we start to work backward and working on each individual “I am not good enough for…” statements but in reality, we need to go directly to the root and work on the “I am not good enough” statement in itself. You will wear yourself out cutting down the branches and trunk of the problem because more will grow back, so get to the root.

You are enough!!!

The best way to fight lies in our mind is to speak truth. We may not feel that way but in order for our emotions to shift we must first shift our minds.

You are enough!!!

You feel that? Now start saying it out loud! Don’t keep it in! There is freedom!

You are enough!!!

This is possible, it is not a fantasy or something that we see in the movies. Right now you are saying, “but it is so hard” and you are right! Success is not handed to us, it is by pain and persevering that we are fulfilled when we reach the top. Start speaking life over yourself, if you are only speaking death over yourself then that is what you will get.

The most important thing to know is that we do not need affirmation from others to be ok. You are enough because it is a state of being not a feeling or temporary place. You are enough because you are made in the image of God and that statement alone makes you enough for anything. It has nothing to do with the "good" because you can't be good at everything. You will fail and you will see times of trouble but that does not define who you are.

You are enough.

Dear High School Friend Group,

My sweet angels, where would I be without you guys. We all grew up together because we either met in middle school or high school and watched each other grow up and get "old." We got to go to prom together and then graduate together. Then watched each other as we continued our lives in college, joining sororities and meeting people who will impact our lives forever. It all has happened so fast.

Oh college, we can’t live with you, but we can’t live without you. It’s a love/hate relationship, really. College is an experience that no one can ever prepare you for, and maybe that’s a good thing. You never really expect any of the things that college encompasses until you are there. College is fun, but don’t have too much fun. C’s get degrees, but they don’t get you into graduate school.

Blair Waldorf

The "Gossip Girl" series may be over, but Blair Waldorf's iconic character lives in our hearts forever. Blair was the queen of the Upper East Side, and a character you either loved or hated. She taught us everything we needed to know about life, love and of course, how to score a Chuck Bass. So the next time you feel a bit lost and are in need of guidance, look no further than to the Queen B herself.

As I spend my Sunday avoiding my homework and other adult responsibilities, I realized that I've watched this series over and over about a million times. Sadly, there isn't a Blair quote I don't know, so I came up with a list of a few favorites. You know you love her...xoxo

Summer: a time (usually) free from school work and a time to relax with your friends and family. Maybe you go on a vacation or maybe you work all summer, but the time off really does help.
