In Spain, there is a fire and it has spread to create a toxic cloud of ashes. Many people evacuated before the fire spread, but there were a few who still had to be evacuated from their homes. The toxic cloud of smoke has forced authorities to clear many areas to keep citizens from breathing in large amounts of toxins. The smoke contains ashes and is filled with many burning chemicals. Blame for this fire is placed on government officials, as there is a huge tire dump that many believe caused the fire. This dumping ground has always been criticized by the people living in that area and is now attracting further attention.

As of right now, officials are just trying to put this fire out and clear the air. They do not want this fire to cause long-term health hazards to civilians. Officials have spoken out saying it was started purposefully and not by the tire dump. Emiliano Garcia, the president of the regional government, had this to say in an interview with BBC:

"I've been talking to the two petrol station workers who raised the alarm, and they told me that the fire started on one side of the dump, which makes us think it was not a chance occurrence. Besides, it was not that hot last night."

As of now, officials are trying to put out this fire before it spreads out of control. They want to make citizens aware that this is not a small matter. They have evacuated over 9,000 people and will continue to keep people safe. This could be a great wake-up call for the political officials on how the inability to keep up with waste can cause huge environmental accidents. The people of this town have always been aware of this huge eye sore but the government did nothing but kept it growing.

As of May 14, the fire has been put out and has caused a lot of environmental damages. The people of Seseña are now allowed to go back to their homes and continue with their lives. However, there are still a lot of harmful smoke in the air. This fire broke out on Friday the 13th where government officials have had to use all their power to stop it from spreading and burning. Firefighters were out on the field in order to contain the fire and as the day went along the smoke began to decrease in size. It was a matter if the fire was going to ever be put out or change direction. As a fire, this big can change in many factors as to how damaging it can be to the environment. It is now the question if Sesena will get rid of this dump in order to avoid future accidents are just keep a watch on this tire dump.

Today I started my third week of college at Minnesota State Moorhead. I have survived welcome week, finding my classes on the first day, and being an awkward loner in the dining hall. Even though I have yet to be here for a month, I have already experienced many thoughts and problems that only a new college student can relate to.

"Make sure to get involved when you're in college!"

We've all heard some variation of this phrase, whether it came from parents, other family members, friends, RAs, or college-related articles. And, like many clichés, it's true for the most part. Getting involved during your college years can help you make friends, build your resume, and feel connected to your campus. However, these commitments can get stressful if you're dealing with personal issues, need to work, or aren't sure how to balance classes and everything else going on during the semester.

In college, one of the essential things to have is friends. Yes, textbooks, a laptop, and other school supplies are important but friends are essential. Friends are that support system everybody needs. The more friends you have the better the support system you have. But you also have someone to share experiences with. And don’t settle for just one or two friends because 8 out of 10 times they are busy and you are studying all alone. Or they have other friend groups that do not include you. Don’t settle for just one or two friends; make as many friends as you can. After the first couple of weeks of college, most friend groups are set and you may be without friends.
