10 Times You'll Cry In College

Through your college experience, there will be many times when you will need to cry.

10 Times You'll Cry In College

1. Move-In Day:

It's the first day of college and you are saying goodbye to your parents. As the door shuts behind you, it's hard not to have a mini panic attack as you realize that you are no longer a kid. From meal plans to class schedules, your mind will race when you think of all the things you have to do. Ultimately, this can end in tears. However, you could always be crying because you realize you no longer have a curfew.

2. Recruitment:

You might find where you belong on the first day of recruitment and shed a few tears, or you may be stuck between two houses and you can't decide which one makes you feel more at home. Either way, crying is almost definite during recruitment week. Even though recruitment can be a whirlwind of emotions, you will end up where you belong and have four years of amazing memories soon after you find your home.

3. Bid Day:

The day is finally here, and you found your home! This is ultimately one of the best days of your college experience, and the happy tears never really stop. You have new sisters, and a place to call home for the next four years. You will remember how you felt on this day for years to come.

4. The Library:

Even though you have exciting things going on in your social life, you can't forget about school. I mean, that's what we are in college for, right? You will have endless nights in the library with countless cups of coffee. You will always be thankful for study groups and friends who help you get through 3 A.M. breakdowns over that one math class you need to pass in order to graduate.

5. Your Dorm:

We've all been there, you finished your last episode of your favorite series on Netflix and you don't know what to do with yourself. We all wish that our favorite show will magically continue on for an endless amount of seasons, and when we realize it's really over, it can lead to tears. You can always get ahead in one of your classes, but why not start another series?

6. Your Bed:

It's 7 A.M. and you have your first final exam in one hour. You could get up, grab some coffee, and go over your flashcards, but for some reason you would rather sulk in bed for another fifteen minutes. You ask yourself why ART 101 is going to matter in five years, and you contemplate whether or not you should get out of bed. You know that you will eventually get up and prepare, but you might as well take this time to be overdramatic.

7. Your Car:

It happens to everyone eventually, you go through a break-up and it's never easy. Sometimes you are helping a friend when her boyfriend suddenly breaks up with her, or you go through one yourself. Either way, it's always best to pull over, take a deep breath, and listen to a Taylor Swift song that is way too relatable to your current circumstances.

8. Your Friend's Graduation:

There comes a time when those older friends you hold close to your heart need to graduate. No one is ever prepared to have their best friends leave their side without them. It's scary watching people go into the adult world without you, plus it reminds you that your time to graduate is coming soon.

9. Your Sorority House:

Many tears will be shed inside your sorority house. Some of these might be happy, when you find out you got into graduate school or when you tell your sorority sisters you just got engaged. Others may be sad, when you are facing struggles at home or when you get into a fight with your best friend. One thing to remember, however, is that you are never alone, and your sisters will be there through the good tears and the bad.

10. Graduation:

You did it! Surprisingly, all the tears were worth it. From boy troubles, long nights studying, and all of the overwhelming times, college is over. You made friends that will last a lifetime who were with you when everything seemed hopeless. Now you have experiences that you will remember forever. Just like move in day, there is a little fear of the future, but you are overwhelmed by the joy of finally being free.

Now that it seems “talking” is the new way to date, and will stay that way until another idiotic term is used to describe the people who can’t settle down and just date someone, I feel as if it’s time to go over the unwritten rules of “talking.”

Rule 1. Having feeling without feeling.

What's up Asshat,

I've composed a list of things that I wish upon you, and they're harsh and cruel. These things are things that I wouldn't wish upon my worst of enemies, not even that Starbuck's barista who always screws up my order, not even him. You fall into a whole other category of hate. You surpass Starbucks barista. Congratulations, I'm actually a pretty nice person, making you worthy of every single bit of torture I wish upon you. What are these things I wish upon you you might ask?
