According to Tim McGraw, "Ain't nothin in the whole wide world like a southern girl." But why a southern girl? What's wrong with a nice northern chick? Both women have incredible qualities to them. Although there are differences between both, it usually comes down to their appearances.

Southern girl stereotype:

If you're a southern girl, everyone naturally assumes you run around in a bikini top and booty shorts while shotgunning beers on your boyfriends tractor. Ok, that's a little exaggerated, but still, it's pretty accurate. I tried googling what made a southern girl so great, and you know what came up? Her body. That's ALL that came up! No one cares about how they act, just as long as they are pretty and address you as ma'am or sir. There is more to country girls than that. Girls from the south are caring and considerate; they'll take the time to talk to you about your day and see if there's anything you need. I know country songs make it seem like all that the girls are good for is to sit next to their man half naked and drive down a dirt road with his buddies because he wants to, but these girls aren't just objects. Southern women are polite, stylish, and they know how to have fun. It's not hard to see why people find them so alluring

Northern girl stereotype:

"Oh my god I touched dirt!!!!!! Get it off me!" Sound like something a city girl would say? WRONG. Why would a northern girl say that? We have dirt up here, we go hiking and mudding just like the southern girls, but the world has labeled us as stuck up women who don't want to do anything except go shopping and drink bubbly with our girlfriends. Granted that is a great time, but not limited to northern girls. Girls up north aren't all stuck up and think we're better than the southern girls. I googled 'best qualities of a northern girl,' and this is what popped up:

Northern girls have no good qualities? Again, WRONG. Northern girls are funny, sensitive, and can be just as fun as any southern girl can! Plus, city girls are pretty dang attractive if you ask me, even though we get pegged for being too skinny or don't care as much as southern girls.

So which do think is better? Northern or southern? I can tell you the answer to that easily: they're both amazing, and one is not better than the other.

11 Things Summer Nannies Can Relate To

There are plenty of obstacles that come when taking care of kids, but it's a very rewarding experience.

As a college student, being a nanny over the summer is both enjoyable and challenging. Underneath the seemingly perfect trips to the pool or countless hours spent playing Monopoly are the obstacles that only nannies will understand. Trading in your valuable summer vacation in return for three months spent with a few children less than half your age may seem unappealing, but so many moments make it rewarding. For my fellow summer nannies out there, I know you can relate.

There are a lot of really easy, common names in the U.S. and while many of those simple names have different spellings, most of the time, pronunciation is not an issue that those people need to worry about. However, others are not as fortunate and often times give up on corrections after a while. We usually give an A+ for effort. So, as you could probably imagine, there are a few struggles with having a name that isn’t technically English. Here are just a few…

Daydreaming

day·dream (ˈdāˌdrēm/): a series of pleasant thoughts that distract one's attention from the present.

Daydreams, the savior of our life in class. Every type of student in the classroom does it at least once, but most cases it is an everyday event, especially in that boring class -- you know the one. But what are we thinking while we are daydreaming?

Puerto Ricans. They are very proud people and whether they were born on the island or born in the United States by Puerto Rican parent(s). It gets even better when they meet another fellow Puerto Rican or Latino in general. You’ll know quickly if they are Puerto Rican whether the flag is printed somewhere on their person or whether they tell you or whether the famous phrase “wepa!” is said.

If it hurts now, it'll hurt again. Not because you're gullible or naive, only because you fall fast, hard, and you do it every time.

We fall each and every time with the complete and utter confidence that someone will be there to catch us. Now that person we SWORE we were never going to fall for has our hearts, and every time we see them our palms start sweating. The butterflies in our stomach start to soar and our hearts are entirely too close to bursting out of our chests.
