Growing up in a Desi household always made it difficult in terms of celebrating American traditions such as Thanksgiving.
I always felt as though I was missing out on turkey, mashed potatoes and gravy, and other popular items found in a traditional Thanksgiving dinner. As I grew up, I realized that it doesn't matter what we eat as long as it is delicious and with good company! Here are several South-Asian food options (from various regions) to spice up Thanksgiving this year.
Note: Vegetarian dishes will have a "V" next to it.
Appetizers/Side Dishes:
