Soul Mates Do Not Exist

The idea that you and the one you were fated too are actually one soul that was split.

Of course they exist, silly!

Soul mates and twin flames. Both having the same definition. Plato and Theosophy have similar ideas, varying in detail. The idea that you and the one you were fated to are actually one soul that was split. That you will spend your lifetimes (past and present) searching for your missing half. Once you found them, you soul would recognize it. Why? It's your soul's counterpart. The red string theory. That you and the one for you have each end of the same red thread tied to your finger. It can bend and tangle, but it will never break.

In today's world, the word love and soulmate are thrown around too often. Making it virtually meaningless unless you are an old soul like myself, a hopeless romantic. See, what those who are guilty of abusing that word fail to realize is that you probably don't actually know what love is. You are in love with the idea of being in love, yet you can't remain loyal or sane enough to find your true counter part. You think it will be easy, that it will be magical and instant. It's not. It takes work and most people aren't willing to put in the work. It's too easy to just move along to something easier.

Like all things in life, if it's truly worth it, it won't come easy. You will have to fight for it day in a day out. You will want to give up. You will be tested more times than you could ever count and when you give up you should know that you aren't worthy of real love. Being with your soul mate won't be an easy task but when it finally comes into place, it'll be the most rewarding.

It could be a case of the right person at the wrong time. Your schedules could be drastically different. They could live far away or if you are together you have to face battle after battle. Fall down seven times get back up together eight. Together, always there even if it's not right by your side.

Your fated counterpart. That person you just know they are it. With everything inside of you. No matter how much they get on your nerves. The person you are absolutely terrified of losing, even if you don't always act like it. You may attempt to move on and it could work with another, temporarily. You could love another but something will always feel like it's missing, because it is. It's missing the one you don't doubt your feelings for. You just know that they are your forever.

"You're the one designed for me
A distant stranger that I will complete
I know you're out there we're meant to be
So keep your head up and make it to me"

18 Things I Want To Do Now That I'm 18

I'm technically an adult, so I'm legally required to live a little, right?

For the entirety of my high school career, I was always seen as the goody-two-shoes. I never got in trouble with a teacher, I kept stellar grades, and when I wasn't doing extracurricular activities, I was at home studying. Even when I did go out, it was usually with a bunch of fellow band geeks. The night would end before 11:00 PM and the only controversial activity would be a fight based on who unfairly won a round of Apples-to-Apples when someone else clearly had a better card (I promise I'm not still holding a grudge).

Now that I'm officially an adult, I want to pursue some new things. I want to experience life in a way that I never allowed myself to do prior to entering college. These are the years that I'm supposed to embark on a journey of self-discovery, so what better way to do that than to create a bucket list?
