“You’re a just a sorority girl,
You don’t know any better.
Drunken, dumb, and ditzy,
Wearing your lettered sweater,
Paying for friends because
No one likes fake,
Monogrammed jackets,
And stop eating Chipotle for God’s sake!
Buying expensive clothes,
With daddy’s credit card,
And you drive a BMW I suppose?”
Stereotypes build me strong,
Because ill prove you that they’re all wrong.
I am independent, imperfect, and intelligent,
I am the girl where consignment stores are her element,
I am the girl who has a mom and a loving step dad,
I am the girl who is a rocket taking off of a launch pad,
I am the girl who lives in the library to get straight A’s,
I am the girl who celebrates on pay days,
I am the girl who works to survive in this world,
I am much more than just a “sorority girl”
And no, I bought my own car,
A Nissan Versa thus far.
