We made it boys

By now if you have no idea that I rushed and joined a sorority, I don't know what rock you've been living under. But like even then it's not like you were supposed to know. Haha I'm definitely kidding. But anyway, we made it boys. It's time to be a frat sister. Now I know what you're thinking, a frat sister? Yes sir, I'm in a frat. In case you didn't know Pi Beta Phi is the number one frat star in the world. Pi Beta Phi has the honor of being the first national women's fraternity based off the letters and institution of a male's fraternity. Okay but like I'm not here to school you on the history of Pi Pho but I could.

Anyway, onto today's annoying story about "finally finding my home" and knowing that this is the place that I will fit in and belong for rest of my time at MSU. Or better yet, "my future bridesmaids". You've probably heard all these things, and hearing it once more won't hurt.

Here we are sitting and getting onto the final festivities of the steps to finally being a sister. Let me set the mood; about 50 or some girls sitting around in the basement of their sorority house waiting to hear their name called so that they can go upstairs to get their new arrow pin and take the vows the first members of Pi Phi created for them and their future members so that they can be the beautiful women that God created them to be. Girls leave two by two, never to be seen again. I'm kidding, they're just new women now hanging out in the dormer with their new statuses as sisters. Just like the others, I'm sitting here doing homework while I wait for my name to be called and walk up there and take the vows I signed up for.

I start to hear the tap-tap of the heels of the Executive Council's member's coming down to call the next two people, not knowing who is next or who is last. Then I hear it, "Rohitha Rajasekar". This is it, it's my turn. I gather all my things and gently walk upstairs, not wanting to trip over my dress and air (yeah, I'm clumsy like that). I put my stuff down and fix myself as I walk in with my friend waiting to be initiated into the house where it all starts. We get in formation and follow the EC member in and are led in front of the chapter president, where she reads us the promises in which we take upon in our daily lives. And before you know it, she's done reading to us and we are pinned with our new pins and wine and blue ribbon and given a carnation and sent on our way. And just like that we are officially official.

I love being a Pi Phi angel.

Dear High School Friend Group,

My sweet angels, where would I be without you guys. We all grew up together because we either met in middle school or high school and watched each other grow up and get "old." We got to go to prom together and then graduate together. Then watched each other as we continued our lives in college, joining sororities and meeting people who will impact our lives forever. It all has happened so fast.

Oh college, we can’t live with you, but we can’t live without you. It’s a love/hate relationship, really. College is an experience that no one can ever prepare you for, and maybe that’s a good thing. You never really expect any of the things that college encompasses until you are there. College is fun, but don’t have too much fun. C’s get degrees, but they don’t get you into graduate school.

Blair Waldorf

The "Gossip Girl" series may be over, but Blair Waldorf's iconic character lives in our hearts forever. Blair was the queen of the Upper East Side, and a character you either loved or hated. She taught us everything we needed to know about life, love and of course, how to score a Chuck Bass. So the next time you feel a bit lost and are in need of guidance, look no further than to the Queen B herself.

As I spend my Sunday avoiding my homework and other adult responsibilities, I realized that I've watched this series over and over about a million times. Sadly, there isn't a Blair quote I don't know, so I came up with a list of a few favorites. You know you love her...xoxo

two women enjoying confetti

Summer: a time (usually) free from school work and a time to relax with your friends and family. Maybe you go on a vacation or maybe you work all summer, but the time off really does help. When you're in college you become super close with so many people it's hard to think that you won't see many of them for three months. But, then you get that text saying, "Hey, clear your schedule next weekend, I'm coming up" and you begin to flip out. Here are the emotions you go through as your best friend makes her trip to your house.
