I woke up this morning to start my Sophomore year of college. How is that even possible? As a returning student though, I had so many thoughts running through my head, and many more that I'm sure I'll have throughout the course of this year! Here's to all us Sophomores! May the force be with us.

1. Why'd I decide to take another 8 am?

The very obvious question you ask yourself as you roll out of bed trying to fight back the exhaustion so you can make it to class on time. Although you'll have the rest of the day to yourself, who wants to give up sleep?

2. Should I make an attempt to look decent?

After all you already did that last year. Should you really try to make another good impression or value your 15 more minutes of sleep?

3. Where did I even put my backpack?

Let's be honest, do you even remember the last time you saw it? Time for plan B!

4. Do I look like a freshman?

Please tell me the answer is no.

5. Wow! That was me last year.

Should I feel pity or laugh about it. The world may never know.

6. Is this year going to be better than last year?

These are the pressing questions we ask ourselves before even stepping back into the shark tank.

7. Should I be more involved?

This is the ultimate struggle of not knowing whether or not you should join another club or maybe trying to find another way to get involved.

8. Where are my friends?

And why are they leaving me to take this lab by myself.

9. I wonder what's for lunch today!

Because we all know syllabus day is boring as hell, why not think about more important things...like food, obviously.

10. Will I be able to find a decent parking spot?

After all I'm not trying to park in Guam. Leave minimum a half an hour before your class. Work those driving skills, girl!

11. It's already Sophomore year? How did freshman year go by that fast?

Guess you better cherish it as much as you can because you'll be done before you know it!

Who knows, maybe it will be the best year ever! Study hard!

As college students, we are all familiar with the horror show that is course registration week. Whether you are an incoming freshman or selecting classes for your last semester, I am certain that you can relate to how traumatic this can be.

1. When course schedules are released and you have a conflict between two required classes.

Bonus points if it is more than two.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
