Well, here we are. Time is flying faster than I could ever imagine. I am now a sophomore in college, and although I'm not really "old", I certainly feel old. Freshman year felt like the fastest year of my life, and I can't even imagine how quickly these next three years of college are going to go by. But it's better to just live in the moment and see how things play out, so here's to sophomore year.
With one year under my belt, I can definitely say I'm going into this year feeling a lot less anxious. I remember like it was yesterday when I was sitting down on my first day of class thinking that I was going to end up eating in the dining hall alone every single night. And I kept trying to convince myself that if I had no friends it would be fine and I could just study alone 24/7. But, a lot has changed since then.
I think many of us can all say we did a lot of growing our first year of college. It's a huge change, but I'm glad it happened and now I'm looking forward to this upcoming year with the amazing people I met.
Going into this year knowing where everything at school is and how to get places brings a sense of home. We are all back at our second home with the friends we haven't seen in months, but who are the same friends that will be there for us at all hours everyday.
We now know what foods to eat at the dining hall, we know what professors to take, we know the best places to go, and it feels so good to be back.
The thought of actually having to do school work is a little bit nauseating, but the fact that we will be able to be with our best friends everyday is what makes it okay.
So, here's to an amazing, fun, and exciting sophomore year with new people and the people who made the college transition so easy.
