The Sophomore Year Bucket List

The Sophomore Year Bucket List

As finals approach and my freshman year comes to an end, I am reflecting on the things I have enjoyed the most. I have made so many friends, joined a great sorority, made lasting memories, eaten a lot of food, laughed, cried, and slept. However, before I leave this year behind, I give you a list of things that I plan to do during my sophomore year. This article will be my reminder of the great adventures I have planned for my future.

1. Have more adventures.

2. Be genuinely happy.

3. Meet new people.

3. Do well in school.

4. Get involved with more activities on campus.

5. Find love.

6. Don't say no.

7. Go on spontaneous weekend trips. Or maybe even week day trips.

8. Study for tests in advance. And by advance, I mean two to three weeks before the test, not the day before.

9. Work out more.

10. Have a picnic on Sweetheart Circle.

11. Go to more darties.

12. Watch less Netflix (cough, cough -- that's never going to happen).

13. Go to more sorority and fraternity events.

14. Drink more Parker's slushies.

15. Go to sleep early.

16. Learn how to cook meals.

17. Drink more water.

18. Write more and become a better writer.

19. Overall, have more fun.

It's officially December. There is less than a month of 2024, and I still feel like yesterday was summer. Now comes the merriest time of the year, the Christmas season.

Everyone has been waiting for this time of year since mid-October (which is way too early, in my opinion) or before. It's a time of love, family, memory-making, and gift-giving. A lot of times when I ask friends and family what they want, I get a lot of "I don't know" or "I don't care."

I was sitting at my cubicle, now that I am an adult, looking at the rain pouring down on the windowsill, bumming on life, wishing for the rain to just stop for a full day.

And since this is my first year out of college being a “real person,” I am totally missing the winter, spring and summer breaks. I am sure all of us have felt this way even if just for a hot minute…
