Sophia Bush Quotes Everyone Should Hear
US Magazine

Known for her role as the fierce and bold Brooke Davis on One Tree Hill as well as bad ass Detective Erin Lindsay on Chicago P.D., Sophia Bush is a phenomenal actress and even better person. More than just a pretty face and talented woman, she has a heart of gold. Sophia holds many causes near and dear to her heart, and she's equally passionate about all of them. From education to women's rights, when she has her mind set, there's no goal out of reach. Looking past the ever so popular B. Davis quotes, below are some of my favorite quotes by her that have helped me through a lot.

“As a woman, I know you’re young, but you gotta hear it now: the most valuable part about you is your brain. Get an education; don’t let anybody tell you that your body or the size that you wear or any of that BS matters, because it doesn’t. Your brain matters, so be the smart girl in the room. Because, to be funny, you have to be smart, because you have to get the joke.”

Sophia is a firm believer that smart is sexy, and I couldn't agree more. No matter how much emphasis the media puts on body image, intelligence is where the real beauty comes into play. At the end of the day, beauty comes and goes, but intelligence is forever. Set goals, get an education, use your brain. It's the most powerful tool you have.

"It doesn’t matter what measurement is around our thigh, it matters what you put out into the world. It matters how many times a day you smile, and are you good to the people in your life."

Size doesn't matter, heart matters; the good you put into the world matters. I think sometimes we forget how much our lives and the decisions we make affect others and the world. We get wrapped up in ourselves, and I'm guilty of it too. Instead of focusing on your weight or size, focus on what you can do to better the world. The world you want to live in starts with you!

“Life is too short, and I’m Italian. I’d much rather eat pasta and drink wine than be a size 0"

Society has this sick tendency to make everything about being skinny. If you're a size zero, tht's great. If you're not, that's great, too. Size is just a number, and life should be lived to the fullest without letting a number define you or your worth. Besides, there's too much good food out there that you'd be missing out on.

“I think the greatest thing that we can do is take care of each other.”

With all of the recent tragedies that have been happening around the world, this quote is huge. We're all human and we're all together on the same planet, so why not care for each other? At the end of the day, all we have is each other.

"You are enough. You are so wonderfully, deliciously, perfectly and imperfectly enough."

One of the biggest struggles we as women face is feeling as if we're not enough. Not tall enough, not skinny enough, not pretty enough, just flat out not enough. There's always going to be times where we're not as confident, but this quote gives you that little boost you need to snap out of your funk. Flaws and all, you're enough. Never forget that or let someone tell you otherwise.

Sophia Bush, thank you for not only playing some of my very favorite characters, but for inspiring me daily with your wisdom, determination, and heart. You're the definition of a role model for women all over the world!

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
