Sons
By Shara Richards
Cocoa kisses and giggled filled hugs
Jumping high to catch a fire fly
Dancing in the water falling from the sky
The laughing twinkle light in your eye
Stopping to examine all the bugs
Collecting leaves to throw
Always happily on the go
It’s a joy to watch you grow
Licking lips over frosty root beer mugs
Ripping the paper off presents and tossing the bow
Playing swashbuckling Captains
Future kings conquering mountains
My sons I hope you always know
Each of you have the deepest love of my very soul
