Music has always been a big part of everyone's lives, now especially, we rely on music to express our emotions, styles, and cultures. Some music has a very specific message even if you don't think it does, but sometimes, we don't care for a message and care about how it makes us feel. Here are some songs that you may not have heard before but they will definitely be on repeat for the next couple of weeks.

"Carried Away" - Passion Pit

"Carried Away" came out in 2012 before the release of Passion Pit's second studio album. This is definitely at the top of my "Feel Good" playlist. Makes you want to jump around and dance. If you're into Indie/alternative pop, you're definitely going to like this song and some of their other songs.

"Violet Hill" - Coldplay

Coming in with another Alternative/Indie song, "Violet Hill" came out in 2008 with their well-known album "Viva La Vida". This song was built around repetitive guitar sounds and unique rhythms. A great song to rock out and one that you should add to your workout playlist.

"Operator"(He Doesn't Call Me) - LÃ¥psley

"Operator" has a little sad vibe, but an insanely upbeat tune. I've never had a song about a failing relationship make me wanna dance more than "Operator" did when I first listened to it. Released in 2016, this song is way too underrated and should be shown a lot more love.

"Losing You" - Boy Pablo

"Losing You" is also one of my favorite Indie/Alternative songs (I think we can say that indie is my favorite genre). This is a feel-good song that will make you shake your shoulders a little. Released in 2018, Boy Pablo was a favorite at festivals, and "Losing You" and a couple of other songs were definitely hits.

"Bad Idea" - Ariana Grande

My favorite song from the "Thank You Next" album is "Bad Idea". This song definitely one of the most underrated songs from the entire album. If you're not an Ariana Grande fan, and you haven't listened to the entire album, you might not have heard this one, but it's worth your time to listen to.

"For Him." - Troye Sivan

I was obsessed with this song in middle school and if I'm being honest, I still am. Released in 2015, with the rest of his album "Blue Neighborhood", healing from his past lover, but also a super fun song. It might seem a little sad when you're really invested in the lyrics, but the tune is lots of fun to dance around to.

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.

December... it's full of finals, due dates, Mariah Carey, and the holidays. It's the worst time of the year, but the best because after finals, you get to not think about classes for a month and catch up on all the sleep you lost throughout the semester. But what's worse than finals week is the last week of classes, when all the due dates you've put off can no longer be put off anymore.

winter

Thanksgiving break is over and Christmas is just around the corner and that means, for most college students, one hellish thing — finals week. It's the one time of year in which the library becomes over populated and mental breakdowns are most frequent. There is no way to avoid it or a cure for the pain that it brings. All we can do is hunker down with our books, order some Dominos, and pray that it will all be over soon. Luckily, we are not alone in this suffering. To prove it, here are just a few of the many deranged thoughts that go through a college student's mind during finals week.

I know every college student has daily thoughts throughout their day. Whether you're walking on campus or attending class, we always have thoughts running a mile a minute through our heads. We may be wondering why we even showed up to class because we'd rather be sleeping, or when the professor announces that we have a test and you have an immediate panic attack.
