As school comes right around the corner, I like to prepare by adding news songs and making the perfect playlists to listen to as I walk to my classes. Here are a few of my favorite tunes to jam to:

1. Ritual by Marshmello ft. Wrabel

"I never knew love living without you. I don't feel lost now that I found you. Now, help me now. I don't know what I'd do if I didn't have you"

This song is perfect to get you into your emotions about someone you love or have just started a relationship with. What I love most about this song is that it has such an upbeat drop and background noise that lifts you up and makes you want to sing your heart out!

2. There’s Nothing Holdin' Me Back by Shawn Mendes

This song has been top ten on the radio for weeks now, so hopefully all of you know that Shawn Mendes can really pull your heart strings. It's classic with the lyrics but transforms into this unique creation when he brings out the guitar and vocalizes the chorus to a new level.

"Baby, there's nothing holding me back!"

3. Turn Back Time by Deorro ft. Teemu

Here's another romantic song reminiscing about love and the relationship this one couple had. It's sweet and soft at first but once the bass drops, it turns into this upbeat and raging tune that is hard not to dance to.

4. Reality in Motion by Tame Impala

Changing the genre and feel to something more calm and sensational. Tame Impala has light and airy vocals that, when combined with their instruments, creates a mellow atmosphere to which you can also bop your head to while walking to class. This song helps me relax and get creative, which is always a helpful mindset to have.

5. Something New by Getter

Only having instrumentals can be challenging to hold an interest in most songs, but not this one! This is the perfect song for daydreaming while walking to class and finding your inner chi before getting serious in class. I always find myself more relaxed after listening to this one!

6. Horizon by Pigeons Playing Ping Pong

Another classic instrumental that passes time without even noticing! This song is so heartening and cheery that ten minutes go by in a flash! Not to mention the amazing guitar solos that are contagiously energetic.

7. Standing On The Shore by Empire of the Sun

Empire of the Sun is a unique band that has a really refreshing sound. Their lyrics are appealing and easy to sing along to while their vocals create a savory piece that keeps you listening until the very end.

"Don't want to talk; all I hear is noise!"

8. Vinyl by Fly By Midnight

And last, another love song! Of course, it's cheesy, but the tune is so promising that it is hard not to put on while walking to class to get cheery and make any day a little brighter!

By now I bet you're jamming along with me and are relishing in some new tunes! I hope your new semester-class-walking playlist is all set and ready to go!

When I was learning how to talk, I was taught both Portuguese and English at the same time. In elementary school, I started taking mandatory Spanish classes, which I did well in because of my knowledge of Portuguese. Then in high school, on top of taking Spanish, I also started taking French. Now, in college, already fluent in English and Portuguese, I'm in the process of becoming fluent in Spanish, and I have a standard high school level understanding of French.

I am without a doubt one of those people who refuses to start decorating for Christmas or listen to Christmas music until after Thanksgiving. Unfortunately, Thanksgiving has become an underrated holiday over the years. You barely see any Thanksgiving decorations in stores; it's like they skip right from Halloween to Christmas.

Some universities only get two or three days off for Thanksgiving break. Or, if your university is like mine, you get the whole week off go go home. A whole week off is a long time. I'm not complaining, because I'd rather have a whole week off than three days, but there is a lot of down time. Here are some ideas as to what you can do to get the most out of your Thanksgiving break.

It's that time of year again- Thanksgiving Break is finally approaching. For college students everywhere, Thanksgiving is a time to relax and not really worry about homework (well, depending on what major you're in). Your relationship doesn´t have to be full of exchanges of lavish gifts. You do not have to go on elaborate dates and try crazy things. While those are great for a relationship, there are much simpler ways to ensure a happy and stable union.
