While studying for finals, many of us will find ourselves slaving away on our laptops and using up the rest of the ink in all of our pens. Our minds will be racing viciously as we jump from a study guide for cell biology to flashcards for geometry formulas. During this high stake time, we may feel a little burnt out from time to time from the immense workload. Music is great for study breaks, and for a lot of people, can even be helpful to blast while studying.

So, here are a few different songs for all of the different types of hard working students getting ready for finals to throw into their playlists!

1. "The Judge" by Twenty One Pilots

This song is extremely catchy, and the singer, Tyler Joseph, has such a joyful disposition that sheds through his music and relieves my stress immediately. Also, this is my favorite song by Twenty One Pilots. You'll love it too! Here is a link to hear the song.

2. Any Type of White Noise

There are all sorts of videos on YouTube with hours of study "music" that you can throw on repeat. This is really nice if you cannot deal with lyrics while you are cramming. Here is a link to my favorite white noise study audio video.

3. "Colors" by Halsey (Instrumental Version)

Instrumental versions of songs are also very good for those who do not like hearing lyrics while studying. Here is a link to the instrumental version of "Colors" by Halsey.

4. "Sorry" by Justin Bieber (Instrumental Version)

This is just another fantastic instrumental version of a song that is great for studying. Here is the link for this one.

5. "Cello Suite No. 1 in G major" by Johann Sebastian Bach

If you are a person that does not like to study with lyrics and enjoys classical music, I suggest you go full out with some Bach. This is a link to a high quality audio YouTube video of it.

6. "This is Gospel" by Panic! At The Disco (Piano Version)

Brendon Urie has a really calming voice that will ease you into studying for your hardest subjects. In the piano version of the song "This is Gospel," his voice is somehow even more soothing than it was in the original version. Plus, this link takes you to the music video for the song, where Brendon looks gorgeous.

7. "A Thousand Miles" by Vanessa Carlton

Sometimes a throwback song can be an exciting addition to your study playlist that gives you that extra push to finish that last equation. It can also be a bit distracting once you start attempting to belt out all of the lyrics that you have known by heart for so long. Here is a link to listen to this nostalgia booster.

8. "Since U Been Gone" by Kelly Clarkson

And, here we have another throwback song. Let's be honest; you can never go wrong with Kelly Clarkson. You can rock out to this song by clicking this link!

9. "Shine On You Crazy Diamond (Part One)" by Pink Floyd

Pink Floyd provides just the right amount of mellowness to any rock music fueled study session. Here is a link to the song.

10. "Born in the U.S.A." by Bruce Springsteen

If you are into studying with rock music that isn't as mellow, this song is better for you. I mean, sometimes you just need to rock out with your air guitar in order to make chemistry bearable! The song can be found here.

11. "CHERRY BOMB" by Tyler the Creator

If you need to take a little break and throw on some rap music, this is a good choice. If you like to spit out rhymes while studying, this is still a good choice. I know someone who even changes the lyrics to rap songs to fit their vocabulary words. Here is a link to the song.

12. "Dirty Paws" by Of Monsters and Men

Lastly, this one is a personal favorite that I find easy to study to and just a phenomenal song overall. You can find it here.

So, go ahead and start compiling your playlist. Exams are getting closer every day, and I know I want to be as prepared as possible for my lengthy study sessions. You might even find me blasting a few of these songs late one night in the library very soon!

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.

December... it's full of finals, due dates, Mariah Carey, and the holidays. It's the worst time of the year, but the best because after finals, you get to not think about classes for a month and catch up on all the sleep you lost throughout the semester. But what's worse than finals week is the last week of classes, when all the due dates you've put off can no longer be put off anymore.

Thanksgiving break is over and Christmas is just around the corner and that means, for most college students, one hellish thing — finals week. It's the one time of year in which the library becomes over populated and mental breakdowns are most frequent. There is no way to avoid it or a cure for the pain that it brings. I know every college student has daily thoughts throughout their day. Whether you're walking on campus or attending class, we always have thoughts running a mile a minute through our heads. We may be wondering why we even showed up to class because we'd rather be sleeping, or when the professor announces that we have a test and you have an immediate panic attack.
