The following is a list of songs that brings back the kid in all of us.

1. Jimmy Eat World – "The Middle"

This song feels like an anthem for the underdogs of high school and reminds the young soul that everything will be okay.

2. Nirvana – "Lithium"

A pure grunge classic, Lithium encapsulates the feeling of being a misfit in world of people who seem to get the joke.

3. The Who – "Baba O'Riley"

True to the line "Teenage Wasteland", this song is a blast from the past with the omnipresent vibe of youth.

4. Green Day – "Good Riddance"

Letting go is common ground in high school, as many people begin to change and fall away. Although this song is less of a kind "goodbye," it represents the end of relationships and the feelings surrounding that.

5. Nada Surf – "Always Love"

Played in an episode of the TV show "One Tree Hill," this song is about realizing what matters most, love. Above all else, always, always love.

6. Guster – "One Man Wrecking Machine"

This song completely describes at least one guy you knew in high school. It's flagged with great lyrics and a distinctive sound.

7. Foo Fighters – "Best of You"

Everyone has had a bad experience with someone draining you and while in school, stuck around people, this is ever more present. This song is a powerful portrayal of begging for power back, atoned with the killer vocals by Dave Grohl.

8. Selena Gomez – "Who Says"

This song liberates the young (particularly female) listeners. The pressure to feel and be perfect has always been present, especially in youth and this tune sheds light on that and self love more than anything.

9. My Chemical Romance – "Teenagers"

The title says it all: this song is about the hideous nature that sometimes comes along with being a teen and not knowing how to handle your own emotions as well as others.

10. P!nk – Don't Let Me Get Me

The often ambitious and radical Alicia Moore, who goes by P!nk, nailed the feeling of inadequacy in this song. It speaks for the kid who was battling something deeper than anything external, themselves.

7 Ways to Make Your Language More Transgender and Nonbinary Inclusive

With more people becoming aware of transgender and non-binary people, there have been a lot of questions circulating online and elsewhere about how to be more inclusive. Language is very important in making a space safer for trans and non-binary individuals. With language, there is an established and built-in measure of whether a place could be safe or unsafe. If the wrong language is used, the place is unsafe and shows a lack of education on trans and non-binary issues. With the right language and education, there can be more safe spaces for trans and non-binary people to exist without feeling the need to hide their identities or feel threatened for merely existing.

Cambio

Singing is something I do all day, every day. It doesn't matter where I am or who's around. If I feel like singing, I'm going to. It's probably annoying sometimes, but I don't care -- I love to sing! If I'm not singing, I'm probably humming, sometimes without even realizing it. So as someone who loves to sing, these are some of the feelings and thoughts I have probably almost every day.
