Here's some of the songs I've been listening to throughout this summer. I tried to compile a variety of music genres on this list, so hopefully you can find something you would add to your own playlist!

10. One Kiss - Calvin Harris ft. Dua Lipa

This is one of the songs I can't seem to stop playing in my car this summer. This track by Calvin Harris and Dua Lipa has been extremely popular in the UK, charting at number 1, and has started to become really popular here in the US. Out of all the songs on this list, this one sounds the most like summertime to me.

9. Up All Night - Beck

Beck's 'Up All Night' is an upbeat banger that you can run or just hang out and listen to. If you are unfamiliar with Beck, he won the Grammy Award for Album of the Year back in 2015 for his album 'Morning Phase', beating out Beyonce and receiving harsh criticism from the always opinionated and outspoken Kanye West. His music is definitely worth a listen, and 'Up All Night' is one of my favorite songs by him.

8. Guru - Coast Modern

This song by Coast Modern will take you to the beach during your morning commute. The relatively new duo, formed in 2015, have a full-length album full of songs with a sound as unique as this one. The visuals that accompany the song in the music video are also really cool.

7. Chun-Li - Nicki Minaj

The Queen of Rap is back this summer with a highly anticipated new album, aptly titled 'Queen', which is set to be released in August, and has a slew of new music out already. Her new single 'Chun-Li' is a lot different than what we have heard from her before, and sounds super badass.

6. Campfire - Amine ft. Injury Reserve

Amine has to be one of the most underrated rappers of today. He consistently puts out great songs with interesting lyrics and a fresh sound. His latest release, 'Campfire', is no exception and has been on repeat on my playlist throughout the summer.

5. Small Foreign Faction - Haley Blais

Haley Blais is a newer artist who recently released her second EP, titled 'Let Yourself Go'. Originally I found Haley through her hilarious Youtube channel, where she posts vlogs and ramblings that document her daily life in addition to her music. I encourage you to check both out, because neither disappoint.

4. Sit Next to Me - Foster the People

Most people know Foster the People for their signature song 'Pumped Up Kicks' from their 2011 album 'Torches'. 'Sit Next to Me' is another hit produced by the band that sounds like a soundtrack to the summertime. If you like the song 'Pumped Up Kicks', theres no doubt that you will enjoy this song.

3. Done for Me - Charlie Puth ft. Kehlani

I love this new song by Charlie Puth and Kehlani, and the retro 70's style video makes it 10 times better. The back-and-forth nature of the song between the duo is fun to listen to, with both harboring impressive vocals.

2. Say Amen (Saturday Night) - Panic! At the Disco

Panic! At the Disco is back this summer with a new album, titled 'Pray for the Wicked', which debuted at #1 on the US Billboard 200 chart, becoming the band's second #1 album in the country. 'Say Amen' is bound to become your summer anthem, a song anyone can belt along with

1. New Light - John Mayer

John Mayer has always been one of the artists I listen to the most, and his new song 'New Light' is another tune I can add to my favorites by him. The song diverges a lot from his other works or anything else out today, as does the video. Mayer claims that after being frustrated with budgeting problems for the video, he decided to make it himself. What resulted is a goofy almost 4 minutes of stock footage and corny transitions... and people are loving every second.

As college students, we are all familiar with the horror show that is course registration week. Whether you are an incoming freshman or selecting classes for your last semester, I am certain that you can relate to how traumatic this can be.

1. When course schedules are released and you have a conflict between two required classes.

Bonus points if it is more than two.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
