There are so many songs ideal for any summer playlist that not enough people know about. Whether you're road tripping, relaxing poolside, flying somewhere exotic, or hanging out with friends, these songs provide the perfect soundtrack to summer.

Not all of these songs are new and not all of these songs are old but they all scream summer so pull up your Spotify and look up these songs for some good listening!

1. "Vagabond" by MisterWives: This song from their debut EP is the theme song for the new MTV series "Finding Carter" and is one of my new faves.

2. "Afterglow" by Wilkinson: I know that nobody watches music videos anymore, but this is my favorite music video of all time. Plus the song is perfect for dancing around your room by yourself or at a party with friends.

3. "The Mother We Share" by CHVRCHES: Looking to cheer yourself up? This bubbly song is sure to get you hyped up and ready for anything.

4. "Breezeblocks" by Alt-J: This mellow song is perfect for any summer chill sesh and is only one of many amazing songs from their album An Awesome Wave, a title that speaks for itself in the name of summer jams.

5. "400 Lux" by Lorde: This song is basically the soundtrack to summer with lyrics that basically describe any college kid's summer: spent driving around with friends wasting time and having a great time doing it.

6. "The Hurry and The Harm" by City and Colour: This song will really get you thinking if you listen to the lyrics, or it will get you really relaxed if you just kick back and listen to Dallas Green's heart-melting voice.

7. "Easy" by Son Lux feat. Lorde: If you haven't seen Lorde perform live, you should really look up a video of her performing this song. Lorde's dance moves will captivate any audience. As for the song, its super catchy with a fun beat for any occasion.

8. "Of The Night" by Bastille: Bastille is one of my all time favorite bands and this song will make you want to get up on your feet and dance no matter where you are.

9. "Wake Up" by Arcade Fire: Many people will have heard this song from Where The Wild Things Are, one of the strangest movies I have ever seen. However, this song is so much fun to sing along to, especially while driving fast with the windows down.

10. "Shades of Cool" by Lana Del Rey: My favorite song from her new album Ultraviolence. It is another unique song that only Lana can pull off. If you haven't listened to every single song on this album, I suggest you do so immediately.

11. "R U Mine?" by Arctic Monkeys: This is the first song I listened to off their latest album AM and I immediately went to iTunes and bought the whole album. It is one of the best albums out there and is especially perfect for any summer setting.

12. "Lose Yourself To Dance" by Daft Punk feat. Pharrell: The title basically speaks for itself. This is the perfect song to dance to no matter where you're at.

13. "Someone Else" by Miley Cyrus: Now, everyone has their own opinion of Miley that they just can't hold back. Before you judge her, listen to this song.  Anyone and everyone can relate to this song and it is prime dancing music, so give it a chance!

14. "You & Me" Flume Remix by Disclosure and Eliza Doolittle: By far one of the best summer songs ever created. Best listened to on giant speakers and even bigger sub-woofers.

15. "Drunk in Love" Cover by The Weeknd: Although my favorite cover of this song was by Grouplove at Coachella, they do not have an official recording of the cover. However, The Weeknd's cover is just as good and although, it may not top Yoncé, it's perfect for listening at house parties and kickbacks.

16. "Two Fingers" by Jake Bugg: Jake Bugg is one of my favorite artists who not only sings and plays guitar, but also writes all of his own songs. Being the same age as most college students, all of his songs basically describe our lives and not to mention, they are extremely catchy.

17. "Diane Young" by Vampire Weekend: If I were having a party, you would be hearing a lot less dub step electronic stuff and a lot more Vampire Weekend. And you would not be able to stop me from dancing, especially to this song.

18. "Atlantis" by Ellie Goulding: If you ever need a song to dance to or a song to cheer you up, this is the one you need to listen to. It is impossible to not be in a better mood after listening to it.

19. "Rock City" by Kings of Leon: This is the epitome of road trip songs. I could listen to this song on repeat while making the long drive from home to SB.

20. "Fading Listening" by Shiny Toy Guns: This is the best song to listen to after a long day of class or work. Just kick your feet up, pour yourself a glass of something bubbly, and unwind.

Listen to all of these and more of my faves on my Spotify playlist!

Today I started my third week of college at Minnesota State Moorhead. I have survived welcome week, finding my classes on the first day, and being an awkward loner in the dining hall. Even though I have yet to be here for a month, I have already experienced many thoughts and problems that only a new college student can relate to.

"Make sure to get involved when you're in college!"

We've all heard some variation of this phrase, whether it came from parents, other family members, friends, RAs, or college-related articles. And, like many clichés, it's true for the most part. Getting involved during your college years can help you make friends, build your resume, and feel connected to your campus. However, these commitments can get stressful if you're dealing with personal issues, need to work, or aren't sure how to balance classes and everything else going on during the semester.

In college, one of the essential things to have is friends. Yes, textbooks, a laptop, and other school supplies are important but friends are essential. Friends are that support system everybody needs. The more friends you have the better the support system you have. But you also have someone to share experiences with. And don’t settle for just one or two friends because 8 out of 10 times they are busy and you are studying all alone. Or they have other friend groups that do not include you. Don’t settle for just one or two friends; make as many friends as you can. After the first couple of weeks of college, most friend groups are set and you may be without friends.

For a moment your world is spinning. The phone alarm has just scared you awake and you’re flooded by daunting thoughts of the day ahead. You have three assignments due and little time to work on them because of your job. You’re running late because you’ve hit snooze one to many times after yesterday’s long hours. You dizzily reach for a hoodie, craving its comfort, and rush for a speedy exit, praying you will have time to pick up coffee. Does this sound familiar?

Finals week is upon us. It is a magical time of year during which college students everywhere flock to the library in attempt to learn a semester's worth of knowledge in only a week. For some students, it's their first time in the library all semester, maybe ever. Others have slaved away many nights under the fluorescent lights, and are slightly annoyed to find their study space being invaded by amateurs. While these newbies wander aimlessly around the first floor, hopelessly trying to find a table, the OGs of the library are already on the third floor long tables deep into their studies. Here is a few signs that you may live in the library, whether you'd like to admit it or not.
