10 Songs That Were Stuck In My Head The Entire Month Of February

In This Article:

Music is an extremely important aspect of my life. You can pretty much find me wearing headphones 95% of the day. Here are some of the songs that I couldn't stop listening to this month. Chances are, if you asked me what I was listening to, it would be one of these 10 songs.

1. "You Say I'm in Love" by Banes World

This song puts me in such a groovy mood. Whenever I listen to it, I can't help but sway along. I love the chorus of the song, especially, which goes, "You say I'm in love, I say you're a fool. Look away from me now, I'll look away too."

2. "Can't Get Over You" by Joji ft. Clams Casino

"Can't Get Over You" is a short and sweet love song on the surface, but when you listen to the actual lyrics, it can be kind of concerning. It's a really upbeat song, but it masks the underlying theme of possessiveness that can be potentially self-destructive at the end of the day. Nonetheless, this song is still a bop and you should definitely give it a listen.

3. "Everyone Acts Crazy Nowadays" by Unknown Mortal Orchestra

Whenever I hear this song, I can't help but dance along to it. My sister even likes this song, and she hates pretty much everything I listen to, so that's saying something.

4. "Lovers Rock" by TV Girl

February definitely evoked a lot of emotions in me, mostly due to the fact that most of February is centered around Valentine's Day. As a result, I listened to a lot of love songs. This song is probably one of my favorite songs of all time.

5. "Making Breakfast" by Twin Peaks

This song is a timeless classic by Twin Peaks. Whenever this comes on, I always sing along to it. My favorite lyrics from this song are "Nothing is forever, that's right, but don't let it get you down."

6. "Sky Walker" by Miguel ft. Travis Scott

I don't normally listen to rap music, but this song is honestly really good. It always puts me in a happy mood and reminds me of summer.

7. "The City" by The 1975

The 1975 has been my favorite band since the eighth grade. They never fail to release bops and have never disappointed. Every month, I rotate what 1975 song I listen to on repeat and this month it was "The City." "The City" is a really upbeat song that explores love and being a teenager. My favorite lyric of the song is, "get in the shower if it all goes wrong," which is honestly some good advice to follow.

8. "Surfing" by Triathlon

Triathlon quickly became one of my favorite bands in the span of a few months. Their music is super chill and easy to listen to. "Surfing" is one of my favorite songs by them.

9. "Work" by Rihanna and Drake

As the semester is going on and midterm season has arrived, stress is my new best friend and the need for motivation has risen exponentially. "Work" is a song that can put anyone in the grind mindset and makes me want to finish my work work work work work work.

10. "Wild" by Troye Sivan

Troye Sivan is definitely one of my favorite artists. He's so talented and it boggles my mind that he literally started on YouTube and grew into who he is today. Wild is one of his older songs, but it never fails to get me in my feels. The lyrics, "You make my heart shake bend and break, but I can't turn away, and it's driving me wild," is enough to put me in an emo state.

7 Ways to Make Your Language More Transgender and Nonbinary Inclusive

With more people becoming aware of transgender and non-binary people, there have been a lot of questions circulating online and elsewhere about how to be more inclusive. Language is very important in making a space safer for trans and non-binary individuals. With language, there is an established and built-in measure of whether a place could be safe or unsafe. If the wrong language is used, the place is unsafe and shows a lack of education on trans and non-binary issues. With the right language and education, there can be more safe spaces for trans and non-binary people to exist without feeling the need to hide their identities or feel threatened for merely existing.

Cambio

If I'm not singing, I'm probably humming, sometimes without even realizing it. So as someone who loves to sing, these are some of the feelings and thoughts I have probably almost every day.
